Six stars! An amazing experience! - My friend and I went this morning- we've never seen so many dolphins at once and we got to swim/snorkel with them for a few minutes! We also got to see three or four humpback whales and not too far from the boat and we ended with seeing some of the giant sea turtles. This was truly a special experience and our guide was fantastic.

A great way to see local wildlife! Whales were a lifetime experience. - We had a brilliant time on this tour! The communication before the tour was really clear and responsive. A taxi was sent to collect us in the morning from our hotel at Zicatela beach and bring us to the bay that the boat left from. We headed out at 7am in the boat, which was fast and comfortable. Our boat captain was a very good driver, the tour was smooth and comfortable and he spoke good English, so he told us about all of the animals we saw! We saw lots of seabirds, dolphins and some turtles. We also saw multiple humpback whales, which was AMAZING! We saw them come up for air a few times, and show their tails, but we also saw an adult breach. We really appreciated that our guide was respectful of the animals and didn’t try to go too close. A couple of the other boats were going way too close to the whales and almost chasing them, which was sad to see. Please note that each tour is different, due to the higher winds and waves on our tour, it wasn’t possible to swim, and we only spent 2 hours on the tour rather than 3.

Magical Experience! - We had an amazing time! The guide (apologies we can’t remember his name) was extremely knowledgeable, he took us out for 3 hours which was longer than other yours, we saw two different types of dolphins, spotted and white belly (rare to see), we saw 3 whales and a turtle. We were allowed to swim with the whales and dolphins, the most incredible experience, to be at one with these wild animals.

Amazing! - It was a marvelous adventure, Robert was very patient about our requests and doubts (even before we have choose his services). From the moment Polo picked us up evertything was perfect. I must say that it was pretty unlikely to see a whale because January is the best time to watch them and we went in march, however we were very lucky to have Miguel (I hope I am not confusing his name) as a captain, he really really tried to find a whale and he did!! It was a one in a kind experience that made all of our trip worth it!!

Whales, dolphins and sea turtles oh my! - Roberto was more than a tour guide for our visit. I messaged him regarding his mopeds on WhatsApp and he was our Puerto Escondido concierge from then on. He arranged our airport shuttle to get the mopeds and then to our Airbnb. He handled our return to the airport and other travels. He can really arrange anything. Reasonable and reliable. He took us on our Dolphin, Whale and Sea Turtle trip. It was amazing. He knew right where to go and the sights were amazing. We saw tons of dolphins, plenty of whales and sea turtles. Very good quick English and Spanish communication. Made it so easy.

Wonderful Sea Safari - We had a terrific whale and dolphin watching experience. Roberto met us promptly at the beach in the early morning. Our guide was wonderful -- friendly and informative -- and the boat was comfortable with a canopy to provide shade from the sun. We saw whales, a huge pod of dolphins, sea turtles, and rays. Seeing all of the sea life up close was one of the highlights of our trip and we highly recommend Roberto's Ecotours.

Absolutely fantastic experience. - The whale sightings were spectacular and swimming with the dolphins was awesome. The guides were excellent. A must do activity when visiting Puerto Escondido

Wished this tour was better - This tour was such a disappointment. While the tour operator was good enough to pick us up at the hotel in the morning, the rest of the tour went downhill. Our captain did not seem interested in getting us out on the water quickly and did not keep up with the other boats while we were whale watching. At one point we counted 17 boats in the water when we were all together, and they would leave to go find the next whale spotting, while our captain did not seem interested in joining them. I am sure the people in the other boats saw much more than we did. He seemed to be on his phone a lot, but if did not lead to us going anywhere to see whales or dolphins. Hopefully this was a one off and others had a different experience

Unnecessary excessive cost - Unfortunately I strongly advise not to book with Robert Ecotour. The tour itself isnt carried out by them, but by a subagency and there is an excessive extra charge for no extra service. We ended up paying triple the amount which others on our boat had paid. One part was the tripadvisor commission, but not all. Tour itself is fun, just book directly at the beach as per Robert Ecotour’s own recommendation :)
