A joyful way to honor Potuguese tradition and share a amazing meal with friends! - Nested in historical Lagos, the Kitchen is all we could have wished for! Filipa and Gabriela, our hoastesses, received the four of us with open arms, hugs and smiles! The setting is bright, friendly and soon gives you the feel you're cooking at a friend's house, preparing a family recipe! What a joy! The amount of time for the whole experience is perfect; and did I say with plenty of amazing Portuguese wine?! The recipes were simple and feasible, and the outcome .... oh, the outcome!! My favorite was really the "arroz doce," (a desset I must say I could not stand before this time!). Filipa, the chef, immerged us in her family history and her love for her grandmother, a joyful way to honor tradition and share the sacred time of a meal! Thank you, Filipa! Best wishes and all our love!

Delicious traditional cooking class with friends - We had a fabulous time learning all sorts of useful tips as we were guided to help make a delicious three course meal. Filippa and Joanna couldn’t have been more welcoming and we would thoroughly recommend this activity for all ages and levels of ability. The venue is perfectly designed and equipped for the class and you could participate as much (or as little) as you preferred. Lovely small class size of like minded individuals. Hope to try another of their classes next time!

When in Portugual…… - My husband and I went together as we heard about this from friends. The Studio was beautiful, everything was organized well, we worked together to cook and loved to hear the stories about Phillipa (our instructor) and her grandmother. The meal itself was great and we look forward to receiving the recipes of what we cooked together. A beautiful session and 2 hours together. It was a little difficult to find so better to find parking and then walking there.

Recipes full of flavor and history - The "Grandma's Recipes" cooking class is magnificent. Chef Filipa Cabral is incredibly friendly and makes us feel at home, as if we were gathered around the stove learning family secrets. The recipes are full of flavor and history, taking us on a magical journey to the roots of traditional Portuguese cuisine. The main dish is incredible and no longer found anywhere else – only traditional families still keep it on their table. It's a great opportunity to learn and bring it back to our menus, as it's a practical and flavorful meal that brings comfort and warms both body and soul. 😁

A great culinary and cultural experience - A cooking class full of love for Portuguese culture – whether you're an expat or a tourist, the culinary experiences at 'The Kitchen' are truly unforgettable. From mastering the art of making Pastéis de Nata to crafting a delicious Cataplana, or diving into the cherished recipes passed down from Portuguese grandmothers (that was the class I attended), every class is a celebration of tradition and flavor. It’s not just cooking; it’s a cultural journey that delights both your taste buds and your soul. A must-try experience for anyone visiting Portugal and a great opportunity to meet new people or share an experience with your beloved ones.
