A pleasant afternoon of good wine and the wonderful landscape of Abruzzo - We were very pleased with the experience, also thanks to a December sun not bad at all. Just arrived we were greeted by Sara a very nice and courteous girl who was our guide throughout the day. The afternoon began with a journey on the Jeep that, with a journey of about 10 minutes, accompanied us from the estate to the vineyards. Once we arrived we got to go down and observe the vineyards closely while the guide gave us information about the company, the different types of wine produced and how to grow and harvest. On the way back we passed through some villages in the area and got out of the car again to admire from the lookout a breathtaking view where mountains, hills and sea gave life to an enchanting panorama. Once back in the cellar, the tour continued with a visit to the Mazzarosa with a story this time with a more historical twist since the company is more than 100 years old and is the oldest winery in Abruzzo. It is here that we were also able to visit the largest wine barrel in Europe. After this tour of the cellar, they were accompanied inside a tavern where the tasting of 5 Mazzarosa wines (pecorino, cerasuolo, NovoVere, Montepulciano and cooked wine) was held accompanied by a tasty and abundant platter of cold cuts and cheeses also available in the vegetarian version with roast peppers, cabbage, zucchini, olives and chicory all together with an excellent bread and oil. The experience is coming to an end not without having purchased some products from the store. Experience recommended for anyone who wants to spend a pleasant afternoon and learn something about the world of viticulture and wine production. The guide is also available in English!
