Journey between nature and birds of prey. - I lived with my girlfriend an unforgettable experience organized by Roberto and his family, in the heart of the Pollino National Park. We slept in a tent under an incredible starry sky and enjoyed a simple but perfect dinner for the environment: the brigands sandwich. The next day we left for a trek led by Roberto, an extraordinary person, with a truly amazing preparation and passion for his territory. Along the way he told us stories, traditions and naturalistic aspects that only those who really love this land can transmit. After the walk we went back to the headquarters for a tasty picnic. In the afternoon, together with their son Pietro, they let us into their world: that of birds of prey. An engaging and instructive experience, which allowed us to observe these wonderful animals up close and learn how important they are for the balance of the environment. Roberto, Pietro and his wife dedicate their lives to the protection of these birds, many of them endangered, with a genuine and profound commitment. It is not just an excursion: it is a real journey into nature and the truest roots of this territory. I will definitely come back to live other experiences... and to “steal” some more knowledge from Roberto! Highly recommended for those seeking nature, authenticity, culture and a genuine Welcoming.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE - We have chosen to celebrate the birthday of our son giving him a new experience in nature and in contact with birds of prey, fascinating creatures that have so much to teach. Roberto, the guide, accompanied us for two days among the wonders of Civita, Pollino and as a falconer introduced us to the world of Golden Eagles, hawks and golden owls. He and his family welcomed us and we spent unforgettable moments. Roberto does an excellent job and is committed to the care of birds of prey and their environment, he deserves esteem and support. We invite all those who love the life and nature to have this experience with family and friends.

Looking into the eyes of the eagle - Great experience, very informative, and you get so close to these birds that you feel they are indeed looking at you. The birds are not in a cage but hold onto the master's arm and can open their wings; they are held by rings on their legs.

Fairytale nature - This is a real dive to discover birds of prey. Roberto transmits all his passion with an interactive story that ranges in topics, entertains in an engaging way and makes you feel part of his environmental project. The experience is relaxing, the scenery breathtaking. The most unexpected and beautiful activity of our stay in the area.

Your Death - My Life - '' thy death - my life''- simple rule of nature where birds of prey reign. And Roberto puts his life into letting them live. With passion he explained the stories of each of his family members/ that I can not call them birds/ and managed to convey to all of us respect and great interest better than the ornithologists from National Geografic. My daughters are in love with Barbagian and can't see Merlin and Morgana's puppies coming. And His Majesty Acquila no doubt moves from the throne of the King of nature banal lion. A perfect day in Civita - We chose, among the many options, to spend a whole day with Roberto, the beating soul of this grandiose reality. As a very knowledgeable AIGAE guide, he introduced us to the beautiful village of Civita, according to the history that it was, but also according to myths and legends. We visited the incredible "Devil's Bridge", which overlooks a part of the Raganello gorges. Afterwards we went into the village to get to know more about the pretty "Casa Kodra" and the magnificence of some historic and important chimneys, and then visited the Civita museum to learn more about the "Arbëreshë" origins of the country. The even more incredible part, then, comes around lunchtime, when we participate in the convivial lunch, overlooking the mountains and the cicadas singing in the background, with Roberto and his whole family, of which Roberto's wife, Loreta, is the chef! Do not miss his "Meatballs with the scent of Pollino" with sauce, capers and olives (I think I have never eaten meatballs so good!!). And then, icing on the cake, the art of falconry! The one for which Roberto and Pietro (his son) dedicate their entire lives, uninterruptedly. Being in contact with birds of prey is too exciting an experience, which only those who live it can understand! Being in close contact with them, knowing their habits, observing them so firmly closely and, more importantly, understanding the hard work that Roberto and family have been carrying out for over twenty years to ensure the maximum well-being of birds of prey... well, let's say that everything I wrote does not really do justice to what has been this fantastic day, this incredible experience!! I wanted to thank publicly, therefore, the whole Rugiano family, for giving us so much, for welcoming us into their world and for all the kindness and attention received! It was all wonderful!! Definitely we will return to do other activities (of which their site is widely stocked, just scour a little to find the best activity for all people and needs!) See you next and thank you again!!

Civita - Beautiful village, it seems to live in the past despite there are all the necessary services. All very kind and helpful. I recommend a ride to the Raganello stream that passes under the Devil's Bridge
