Additional Information

Emerging from the Murge plateau, nestled between the Itria Valley and the entrance to Salento, its roots date back to the 16th century. This business has been handed down through four generations, maintaining the authentic essence of Apulian farming for many years. The starring characters of this agricultural scene are the cows. Their daily milking provides high-quality milk which, used in our own dairy, becomes the key ingredient that starts everything. The diligent work of skilled hands in producing local cheeses and dairy products ensures our clients receive only the freshest and most delectable products.

A Super Experience - We thoroughly enjoyed the farm and cheese making tour at Masseria Seppunisi. The tour included all aspects of the cheese making process; the cows, cute petable calves, a mozzarella/burrata making demo and then everyone was able to make some themselves. Guiseppe [master cheese maker] was a terrific host, and our guide/translator, Wendy did an outstanding job. Extremely interesting. You have got to try this tour if you are in the area, you will love it.

Fantastic cheese at Masseria Seppunisi - It was a very interesting tour, we got to learn about the history of the farm and the milk production there. It's clear that they take great care of their cows! We got to see mozzarella be made and got a taste platter to eat. It was the best cheese I've ever had in my life, with no exaggeration. Absolutely delicious and I was so happy I went! Both the man holding the tour and our translator were super friendly and engaging. 10 outta 10, that cheese is amazing!

Dairy Farm Visit and Cheese Making Class - Our host on the dairy farm and the cheese making experience, Giuseppe, is the soon to be graduate of the Agricultural University in Bari. The tour is was his modern business idea for the farm and cheese boutique. It starts with a visit to the cows to explain the pregnancy rate and milking cycles, then the playful calfs, and finally the semi-automatic milking area. The thoughtful explanation and Q&A allowed maximum understanding of all the many aspects: genetics, computerized tracking of each cow and their milking output, udder cleansing and antiseptic gel application after milking, etc. We followed the milk to the refrigerated vats, and to the cheese making area. After seeing the many cheeses in the refrigerated room, we learned how to work on the cheese by applying hot water and salt and manual know how. We each had a chance to be tutored by Mastro Giuseppe to make our own choice of burrata, fior de latte, o “nudo.” Refreshments and appetizers were generous and delicious. It was one of our favorite experiences in Puglia!
