Ocean tour - Our guide went well beyond the original tour by taking us to the shipwreck La Famile. Nice folks but rather expense. Seadoo is brand of wave runners

La Famille Shipwreck with OB one Kenobi of Tropical Waves - My wife and I booked the two hour jet ski shipwreck trip through our hotel. The tour arranged transportation to Sapodilla Bay Beach, where we met OB one Kenobi, the best guide in TCI. He immediately made us feel welcome, helped us with our belongings, and set us up on the jet ski. We had limited experience on a jet ski so his instructions were really helpful. We rode with OB one for about 30 minute before arriving at the shipwreck. The ride was beautiful and the shipwreck was really impressive. We saw that none of the other tours were boarding the shipwreck, but we asked if it would be possible. OB one made it happen. He coached us through how to climb up safely and took pictures while we explored. This was the best part of our trip. OB one made sure to make this a memorable experience and made sure we got to experience the shipwreck to the fullest. If you're lucky, you'll get him as your guide.

Fun to drive our own jet skis, but maybe a bit more than we needed - Our resort suggested this company for a jet ski rental experience. There was not any communication about what to bring for the outing or what to expect for the tour, and in hindsight, I wish we had taken water shoes (flip flops were not adequate). They picked us up at the resort, and drove us to their spot on the south side of the island. The atmosphere at the rental spot has a huge party beach vibe. We set off with our guide on 4 individual jet skis. There was not much in the way of explanation despite some members of our group claiming they had not ever been on a jet ski. It wasn’t too hard to figure out. Our first stop was a small beach/cave area. It became apparent that this was the optional cliff jumping spot. We hiked a short way on rough rocks. The guide casually said it was about a 25 foot drop, but it was more like 45, and there was no discussion or tips on jumping. Not everyone chose to jump so some of us rode around to pick up the jumpers after they entered the water. Then we set off again and stopped at starfish island where the guide jumped off and grabbed a starfish for everyone to pose with in a photo. Then we had some open water without many other boats, so we could get up to higher speeds if desired. After that we just turned around and came back to the beach area. It was just about 2 hours total. Once we got off, we were rushed back to the van and taken back to the resort. Everyone in our group, especially the teenagers really enjoyed being able to drive there own jet skis. There was also a bit of an issue with tipping. The IPad prompted us to leave a tip when we paid up front and we added a sizable tip. We should have just declined this at this step. When the tour was over, the guide said he would not receive the original tip we left with payment. So either this was true and we overpaid the company or this was less than true and our guide got a really nice tip. Either way, it left us feeling not fantastic about that part of the tour. Two hours with 4 jet skis was very costly, and I’m not sure the choices we made were worth the money. A one hour tour might have been sufficient for our family. The cliff jumpers regretted doing the jump.
