During the Roman era, it was known as Theranda, and in the Byzantine period, it was called Prizdrijana. Historically, the old Dardan highway connecting Lezha with Nishi passed through here. In the Middle Ages, it was known as Via de Zenta, and by the 19th century, Prizren had become the second most important economic and commercial center in Albanian lands, with around 1,500 shops by the end of that period. 1h - Kalaja Fortress - The Prizren Fortress (Kalaja e Prizrenit) is a medieval castle in southern Kosovo, built on a hill above the city. Prizren developed into a large city beneath it. The fortress was declared a Cultural Monument of Special Importance in 1948. It has layers from prehistoric, Roman, and late antiquity periods preserved under its walls. The Ottomans added a hammam, mosque, and military facilities, which were used until 1912. Since then, the fortress has been in decline. - Albanian League of Prizren Museum [Muzeu Lidhja Shqiptare e Prizrenit] - The League of Prizren was the first major Albanian movement organized administratively, politically, and militarily since SkĂ«nderbeu. In 1878, Albanians called a National Assembly to unify Albania. - Sinan Pasha Mosque - Built in 1615, the Sinan Pasha Mosque is the most significant mosque in Prizren. It is located in the heart of the old town, overlooking the river and the Ottoman Bridge. - Prizren - 1. OUR LADY OF LJEVIÅ  is a medieval Serbian Orthodox church in Prizren. It is a symbol of national and cultural identity for the Serbian Orthodox community and is a UNESCO World Heritage site, recognizing its medieval heritage and artistic legacy.
