Special - A profound and enjoyable insight into the life of an Indian Fijian farming family and a traditional Fijian village. We were invited into their homes and given an appreciation of their lives and provided with food and hospitality. Fiji has great weather and beaches and resorts but you’ll miss out on something special if you don’t do this tour.

Incredible tour of the real Fiji with school and village experience - Our tour with Off the Grid was so memorable and special with our two families - 4 adults and 4 kids aged 5, 6, 8 and 8. The first stop was a fresh fruit and vege market in Nadi where we got to see and taste some amazing fruit and vege, as well as supporting one of the markets established by the government to support locals post COVID. The second stop was a local school where we got to show our kids how Fijian students learn - certainly made them appreciate the opportunities and resources provided to them in Australia. The third stop was a family farm where we were invited into their home and got to talk with our host about the Indian Fijian culture and history. The final stop was a traditional Fijian village where we were welcomed by the Chief with a kava ceremony (incredibly special - as tourists you can not just enter a village, you need to be invited and accepted). Once initiated we had a tour accompanied by the beautiful village children. This was such a special and unique adventure and we recommend it to anyone coming to Fiji. Especially if you’d like to experience the real culture of this wonderful country.

Fijian Culture in a nutshell - A vacation in Fiji would not be complete without an insight into the culture of the island people. This personal tour provides this insight succinctly and we well and truly recommend the tour for all ages With pickup from Denarau hotel by our host (Lina) there were 4 focal points as we made our way into the highlands via pot-holed bitumen and gravel roads to the final destination Yavuna Village. Be it the Farmers Market,Primary School,Indian n house or Fijian Village there was always the warm welcome and the opportunity for first hand interaction with these warm people and in English as well! The ground work done to create these personal interfaces was very evident and Lina's enthusiasm in sharing her Fijian values with us was the icing on the cake. Jill/Peter- Melbourne

The REAL Fiji. An experience of a lifetime. - The most amazing, real experience you can have. This female owned business is always searching for ways to give back to the people of Fiji and doing so by bringing us to the REAL Fiji. Traveling by car on crazy dirt roads to the interior with scenery that is amazing we visited a school, then we got to visit a Indian Fijian at her home and have her explain her history and their way of life. Then farther into the back country we visited a Native Fijian village, learning their way of life, walking around the village, leaving will bring a tear to your eyes with their tradition (I won’t ruin it). To compare and contrast the two very different cultures living together was an experience I will never forget. Paulina, an owner, is so excited to bring us this experience. It was nothing like I have ever done and is 1000% worth it. This tour is small, personal, raw, rustic and the best!!!!!

A Must Do! - A truly insight of how Fijians live on a daily basis. Meeting them while doing their everyday chores . We had some Indian food for refreshments and Fijian local Food for lunch . The kids had such an amazing time at the rural school . With this experience it makes them appreciate what they have back home . I had my elderly parents with us and the kids . We all enjoyed. Highly recommended for all ages as they are no strenuous activities involved but great memories of the local people . Thanks
