Situated in the Caldeira Guilherme Moniz, an ancient dormant volcano, this Algar allows visitors to descend approximately 100 meters to admire stalactites that are globally unique due to their silicate properties, as well as an underground lagoon with pristine waters. It is designated as a Regional Natural Monument.
- Gruta do Natal - This is an extensive geological formation, created by the formation of a lava tube within the island, and is part of the Serra de Santa Bárbara and Mistérios Negros Natural Forest Reserve.
- Furnas do Enxofre - Located in the parish of Porto Judeu, within the Municipality of Angra do Heroísmo on the island of Terceira in the Azores, Furnas do Enxofre is a fumarolic field. This area features several vents emitting volcanic gases at varying temperatures, some of which are quite high.

To the caves - Our guide Carolina was outstanding. Her knowledge and friendliness made it a great tour. The Christmas cave was okay but the other cave was outstanding.

The best value in Terceira & so much fun! - THIS IS THE BEST VALUE I think in Terceira. We saw the top three things...and had an AWESOME guide. She was local, born on island, and knew all the history of the caves, volcanoes, the haunted forest, the furnas,.... all of it. We had such a blast and it was the best 3 hours for $100 total for two people. Def tip the tour guide...

Fun afternoon! - Carolina was an excellent tour guide! Extremely knowledgeable and friendly! We learned a lot about the cave formations, the natural history of the Azores, and local events! Highly recommend!

Fascinating! - This tour was great! Our guide, Dora, picked us up at our hotel and then grabbed two other couples from different hotels. We drove about 20 minutes to Gruta do Natal. There we bought tickets for entry to both this cave and Algar do Carvao. In between, we also stopped at Furnas do Enxofre. The landscape is unique and beautiful! Dora explained the various natural sights, and some of the history of how the caves were discovered. She also was a wealth of knowledge of Azorean culture and daily life, telling us about the bull fighting tradition and a traditional stew called Alcatra. Highly recommend!

Amazing place - Beautiful sight in Terceira, make sure you visit this one.
Didn't want to rent a car so booked this tour, lovely guide Carolina who was so knowledgeable.
Beautiful drive to all the sights, countryside, saw a village setting up for a bull running !!
Caves are incredible and everything so well maintained for posterity

Perfect! - Our Tour Guide Dora was Wonderful! She was So knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions. She gave us bonus treat, taking us to Serra do Cume where we saw ‘the quilt’, an Amazing view of the countryside.

Carolina is the best!!! - The two caves and the sulfur vents were amazing but we’re made even better by our guide Carolina! She is an absolute gem and is very knowledgeable about the area. She’s also very kind and patient and pointed out the edible blueberries that no one knew were there from the other tours because no one was stopping to pick them like we were. I highly recommend using this company for the cave tours because it made it so much more enjoyable, and informative.

Antonio, the tour operator, was very helpful and kind. First of all with the transport from our accommodation and back.
Then he led the multilingual tour through the natural beauty of Terceira providing an exceptional guide with endless information on the different destinations visited.
