In fact, the real Prague Castle - The concert was cancelled today but we still have the handset to attend tomorrow. The tour is really nice; we took the audio guide which was included from the price. Outside the holiday period, between noon and two, almost nobody, lost French like us. Really beautiful, furnished rooms, family paintings, collections... A fortiori after the castle where, in fact, there is nothing to see in it. Tomorrow we will enjoy the balcony and the concert with pleasure I am sure.

What a delight! - What an amazing place! We took a taxi up to Prague Castle and walked straight through to the Lobkowicz Palace. (I had read that people were confused as to where it was, but if you looked at the main map upon arrival, it is clearly marked on the far side of the Castle grounds.) I purchased tickets directly from Lobkwicz Palace online ahead for the tour of the Palace and the concert. (My mom is a senior, so there is a savings for someone 65 and older!) We arrived at 10 a.m. and were greeted by a lovely lady who got our audio devices and gave us our concert tickets. We started our audio tour, and it was fascinating. Having the family guide you through the history made it all the better. The exhibits were well-marked, informative, and amazing. The whole story around the family brings me to tears but I am so happy they were able to get their possessions back and share them with us. What a collection! We finished our audio tour and had time for a light lunch in the cafe. Just soup and sandwich, but on a cold day, it hit the spot. The waiters were so friendly and took great care of us. We went back upstairs in time for the concert. Three female musicians took the stage and gave us an absolutely delightful concert!! Such talent! The price for the tour and concert was not expensive at all. We had an amazing time! And once finished, followed the steps down the hill to our hotel, The Augustine. I would highly recommend this tour and especially the concert!

Enjoyable - It was a lovely gallery, cafe and shop. The concert was enjoyable. I do however wish we'd known that senior prices were available at the site or that they'd been offered on the trip advisor site.

Best thing to do in Prague castle - This is one of the best experiences in Prague, off the beaten track and without many tourists. The palace has a beautiful selection of art, musical history, pottery, and furnishings and a great audio guide in which members of the Lobkowitz family explain the past 600 years of Czech history via their own family story. Very well done with lots of warmth and humor. The 1pm concert is delightful. I was too sorry to find this gem on my last day in Prague because otherwise I would have taken the tour of their other castle out of Town as well

Excellent experience! - The concert was delightful. An hour with a viola, flute and piano. Lots of interesting items in the palace and stories about the family.

Good museum. Music was lacking. - The museum is good maintained and is a good place to learn about history of a noble family, if you have an interest in it, of course. Some people might find the exhibition boring, but in this case just do not visit a museum on a topic, that you have no interest in. Also, the museum itself is nice exhibition of rooms and decor, so it has some intrinsic value without the exhibition. My experience at the concert was generally positive. Here are my observations: 1. Timeframe: The concert was impressively punctual, lasting almost exactly one hour, which I found very suitable for the format. 2. Music Selection: The pieces performed were well-chosen from popular and recognizable works, making the program accessible and enjoyable for the audience. 3. Venue: The concert venue was delightful and contributed greatly to the overall atmosphere of the performance. 4. Performance Quality: The overall technique was good, with some pieces performed exceptionally well, though there were a few inconsistencies. The piano and violin performances were consistently solid and enjoyable. Unfortunately, the flute detracted from the harmony. A noticeable whistling sound during the flute's performance disrupted the otherwise cohesive sound, making it difficult to fully appreciate any piece featuring this instrument.

Meh - We booked our tickets online. We had no problems using the Metro to get to the location and walk up the many steps to the palace. The staff were nice. We attended the concert and the musicians played beautifully. Just about one hour of listening to classical music on chairs that were not comfortable made it difficult. Then we took an audio tour of the palace. they have an extensive amount of paintings. The audio tour was well done and what they do have to show was displayed nicely. They were not able to recover much in the way of original furniture, and mostly you are going into rooms that are empty or nearly empty to look at pictures of their ancestors. Essentially, the family had to flee to the United States during World War II and then during communism, their worldly possessions were taken away once again. They obviously have done a lot of work to try to recover whatever that they could. I’ve been to many historic homes and castles and would not recommend going out of your way to visit this one.
