Great Tour for the money! - Nice ticket including entry in a castle museum, Prague Castle, a church from 920 ad and St Vincent’s Cathedral. A reasonable cost and included 2 days entry.

History and good taste. Inoubliable - I knew the Lobkovic family, big family if there was one. Their palate is in their image, sumptuous but tasteful. Make a stop in the dog room and pay attention to Ricky's portrait. Very touching. This is a must-see place for me

1.5 Hour History Lesson through Paintings - It was raining on our last day in Prague. What to do? Go visit this storied family palace.
Bought 2 tickets online which includes an audio guide for $29. You start on the second floor and walk down to the first through different themed rooms with audio featuring the existing family.
Lots of portraits detailing how the palace came to be in the 1500s through a mixture of political favor and arranged marriages.
This is only one of the Lobkowicz's estates that was confiscated by the Nazis and then the Communists. There's a room featuring paintings of all the estates spread across Bohemia. Back in the 1990's the family got back the palace and artwork as part of restitution.
A room is filled with dinnerware from Italian and German origin. Bird room of pictures with actual feathers to be followed by a dog room of paintings. There is an armory and musical room.
To cap it off, you can go out on the balcony for a bird's eye view of the river and architecture. We spent 1.5 hours.
Then we capped it off at 3 pm at the attached restaurant sitting outside under awnings. Enjoyed the cheddar cheese burger with a glass of Czech red dry wine.

Museum with a fantastic eclectic collection - We visited this museum which was part of our standard castle ticket that was free with the Prague Pass. The audio guide was very good so I'd recommend picking it up. There is an eclectic collection of paintings, ceramics, weapons and musical instruments. It was very interesting, and it wasn't very crowded like the rest of the castle complex.

Go early, Audio devices for Castle near Main entrance. - The Lobkowicz Palace was very interesting and informative- the audio guide is one of the best I have experienced. The exhibit of armor and weapons along the Golden Lane was extensive. St. Vitus and St. George were very interesting, but we entered the grounds at the eastern entrance and by the time we got to these features, we realized that a different audio device is required for the churches and Old Palace. It was 3:30pm by the time we arrived at the Information Desk to rent the devices but were denied because they close the shop at 4:00. All information I saw on this site indicated the complex was open until 6:00pm

A few things worth seeing, but not essential - The museum has a lot of portraits of Lobkowicz ancestors. It has some good Delft porcelain. There is an excellent painting by Peter Breugel the Elder and two fine paintings by Canaletto. Then there are some music manuscripts associated with Handel, Mozart, etc. A room or arms and armour and a few musical instruments, a couple of them quite interesting. That is about it. The painting attributed to Velasquez is clearly a later copy. Some of the engravings appeared to be copies. The hangings that might be eighteenth century Chinese, are pretty clearly European knockoffs. The cafe has cafeteria quality food but amazing views over Prague.

Frustrated with disorganized start - The actual tour was good, however to obtain your ticket was terrible. We had to line up in three different lines to be told that our tickets are available at the other end of the castle at the museum, 15 minute walk. Then we had to return to the first entrance and wait again for the audio guide. In total we waited in lineups for over an hour and a half before we even began our tour. There is no indication on the ticket from Viatour where to pick up the actual ticket, you only receive a voucher.

Utter Rip Off! - From trying to redeem the ticket (we asked at several places before we got it right) to then using the tickets, which only allowed us into 4 areas out of 10, we agreed that this was a hideous waste of money. Tripadvisor should be embarrassed that they’re even trying to sell this trip. If you’re thinking of going either buy locally or just walk around the outside of both the palace and castle which is completely free.
