• Potamies - The journey begins in the lush and quintessential village of Crete, Potamies. Visitors will be guided to a traditional farm to witness animal milking and local activities like cheese making. Here, they can savor traditional products such as fresh cheese, olive oil, and rakomelo!
• Aposelemis Dam - The next destination is the Aposelemis Dam, the largest water supply project in Crete. The village of Sfendili is submerged in the dam’s waters, with its impressive old houses visible on the water’s surface. It is also a natural wetland home to a variety of birds.
• Ano Kera - The ascent begins on dirt roads, passing through the gorge of “Ebassas.” The breathtaking view of the majestic mountains and the wild beauty of nature is truly rewarding. During a brief stop, the guide will gather various local herbs (oregano, thyme, sage) as the Cretans traditionally did.
• Windmills Of Lasithi Plateau - The tour continues with a stop at the longest line of windmills in Crete, located at the entrance of Lasithi Plateau. Here, there is an opportunity for panoramic photos and to learn about the history of windmills in Crete!
• Dikteon Cave - The next stop is on the Lassithi plateau, where there is free time for coffee or an optional visit to the impressive Cave of Zeus (cave ticket not included). The birthplace of the God Zeus!
• Ano Kera - Following this, guests will enjoy delicious authentic food, baked in a wood oven, at one of the best traditional taverns. This includes food with wine and water. Please inform us of any food allergies or special dietary needs.
• Krasi - Lunch will be served in the area’s most traditional tavern, featuring food from the wood oven and local wine!
• Platanus Tree - The final stop is in the traditional village of Krasi. Upon reaching the village square, visitors will see the three enormous plane trees and Vryses. Among them stands the largest and ancient plane tree, over 2000 years old.
• Mochos - The journey concludes with a spectacular panoramic view stretching from Sissi to Analipsi. This is a perfect opportunity to capture stunning photos that encapsulate the scenic beauty of this unforgettable experience.
