Great afternoon in Porvoo - This tour books up very early but thankfully I communicated with Darius and he was able to arrange the tour for us in the afternoon of July 9th. The guide, Peter was great! He picked us up on time from Oodi and drove us to Porvoo, all along the way giving us insight into Helsinki, Finnish culture and history. Peter has a passion for Finland and after our stay there we totally understand the special attributes of Finland. In Porvoo, we were able to see all the sites of this beautiful old town, the church, forest area, little shops, picturesque views and, chocolate store where we bought chocolate and licorice and finally, we were able to try some Runeberg cake and coffee with Peter. This was a great afternoon. It is difficult to find availability for this tour so be sure to contact Darius directly and hopefully he will be able to make arrangements as you will not want to miss this tour and Porvoo.

Quaint town - The town was quaint. The guide was wonderful in relaying the history of the place and what all the house colours and building materials signified. It was lovely walking through the town and by the river.

Great detailed look into Porvoo - Darius was a great guide and shared such insightful details about Porvoo and its history and culture. He was very generous about sharing details into the history and culture of Finland too! I really enjoyed his attention to detail such as the start of the tour when we walked to this vantage point to see the town from the top. I highly recommend this as you won’t know anything about Porvoo if you went without a guide.

Don't miss Porvoo! - What a pleasant way to spend part of a day while visiting Helsinki. Porvoo is a beautiful old village reached in under an hour from Helsinki. This was a small group of just me and two others. We were picked up and dropped back to our hotel. Our driver/guide gave us much info about Finland and its people. Just a fascinating culture, both past and present. Porvoo is charming with historical buildings, small shops and restaurants. Great scenery too!

A Terrific (and Tasty!) Historical Tour of Porvoo - Darius was a terrific guide who picked us up at our hotel (even though it wasn't on the initial pick-up list) and provided us with so much interesting information as he drove us to Porvoo. As our questions came up, he was able to answer and our "tour" became much more of a conversation. He showed us the town, a wonderful cafe with the bona fide "Runeberg" cakes, settings that Albert Edelfelt used for some of his paintings and the beautiful Porvoo Cathedral. We came away from our time with Darius having a much deeper understanding of Finnish history and culture than we could have ever gotten from museum signs or wikipedia. Thanks so much, Darius!

Amazing tour! - The guide was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Finland and Porvoo, and also about the Finnish culture. Porvoo is a beautiful town definitely worth seeing. The only thing i would add to the itinerary would be a 30-60 minutes to actually go into more of the shops - many of them looked well worth visiting.

Excellent tour - Guide is very knowlegeable - Highly recommend this tour of Porvoo. Darius was our guide. He picked us up at our hotel and then drove us to Porvoo while giving us a high level overview of Finland’s history and geopolitical context through the centuries. He is very knowledgeable and shared amazing information. If you are in Helsinki for a few days, you should book this tour to visit a bit of the countryside and a historical town which shaped the history of Finland. It is a traditional town filled with beauty and history. The lasted about 4 hours including the drive back and forth from Helsinki. You will not be desappointed!

Not much fun but not boring tough - Tour guide said Finnish would also bring their kids to feel what the real Finnish life style … but actually it’s just an old town with some unique buildings, good to know more about Finland culture but don’t expect it’s a very funny trip , not much things to see. If you have many spare time, it’s ok to visit otherwise no need to do this tour
