If you’re looking for a... - If you’re looking for a laid-back, private tour near Porto, I can’t recommend “What a Trip!” enough. I booked a day trip to Braga and Guimarães, and I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a private experience, which made it feel even more personal and special. Catia and Gabriel were the perfect hosts. They’re both incredibly friendly and made sure I felt comfortable and well taken care of from start to finish. We explored beautiful sites in both cities, with plenty of time to take in the scenery and stop for photos. They even took me to a lovely family-run shop for lunch, where the food was delicious and authentic. It felt less like a tour and more like spending the day with two friends showing me around their favorite places. It’s worth mentioning that this is not a traditional historical tour, so if you're looking for detailed information about the landmarks and history of the places you visit, this might not be the right fit. However, if you’re looking to experience the local culture, enjoy beautiful views, and meet some wonderful people, this tour is perfect. Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable day, and I’ll definitely be booking with “What a Trip!” again the next time I’m in the Porto area!

Great day out of the city! - I completed this tour solo through What A Trip. The owner, Catia, was amazing. She communicated ahead of time to be able to customize the trip with what was important to me. She was very flexible, offered suggestions and even took photos of me. When you travel solo, it is hard to get pics of yourself so this was nice.  She offered a thank you gift which was also a pleasant surprise. Catia checked in to make sure the pace of walking was acceptable. She brought water for the day, which was very thoughtful. I would highly recommend taking this tour.  Both cities we visited were different but very beautiful. Catia gives you time to explore solo the churches, castle, and King's home. She did not rush you but was right there waiting for you when done. The farm tour and wine tasting experience were the best I had. The home is now a museum which was very cool to see. Beatriz, who did the wine tasting, was very kind and thoughtful. I will definitely go back the next time I am in the area.  Catia selected a very nice authentic restaurant for our meal. It was delicious!  Catia's attention to detail is amazing. I can't say enough good things about this tour. It's nice to have an option for a more private tour that is customizable to meet your needs. Don't hesitate to book with Catia and What A Trip! I know I will use her company the next time I am in Portugal!
