Fun adventure with an exceptional guide - We had a wonderful adventure to the Geles National Park with the amazing guide Andre. The park is stunning, the hike is thoroughly enjoyable and doable (even for us Gen-xers!) and the stop at the lagoon was just magical. The water was ice cold but the sun was just warm enough to encourage most participants to take the plunge and enjoy the incredible natural high. We then had ample time to relax and dry off on the warm smooth rocks before embarking on the hike back. We saw wild horses and goats, and, at the end, quite a few of the village free-range cows up VERY close! Andre was easy going but extremely knowledgeable, interesting and focused on everyone’s safety and enjoyment. He made an effort to connect with everyone (a diverse group in terms of age and nationality) His leadership truly enhanced an already terrific experience. We can’t wait to come back and try the Douro tour with him! The ride out to Geles was close to 2 hours each way, but the van was comfortable and there’s a stop on the way out to get breakfast treats and coffee. Note that there is no lunch stop although there is a snack shack at the end of the hike where you can get simple sandwiches, chips, soda and beer. Thank you Andre - and see you on our next trip!

Beautiful and relaxing hike with bathing pleasure in the national park - After a winding drive with ever-changing views into beautiful valleys, you then hike a leisurely path along a steep slope and around cows and exciting rock formations. Finally you can reach the fantastic pools, which invite you to jump, swim, bathe and splash with their different depths. You can soak up a lot of sun on the warm stones. You can also use them for crackling or discovering the pools. Our guide João/John was very nice and always helpful and available with tips and tricks. He allowed everyone in our group to have their own speed and still kept an eye on us all. Thanks also for the cocktail recipe, we will definitely copy it!:)

Glad I went - Just go! Bring water! There is a natural spring to refill about halfway up the hike- Bring a sandwich or snacks- I brought a bottle of Port Wine. As you should.. It’s not “easy” but not “hard”? I feel like I’m in pretty good shape and I was sweating and huffing a bit…if u have any issues don’t go. The guide, Gosto, was super nice, helpful, good driver..2 hr drive each way..there is a little snack hit at base of trail and driver stops halfway there at a coffee/pastry/beer shop 🤘🏽.meetup spot is inside tour office on the corner- across from police station, by the little park/square. Wear bathing suit under clothes cause no where to change at natural pools;)

Absolutely enjoyable, beautiful for the eyes, refreshing for the body - This was such a great hike, with a very friendly, caring for each in the group guide! Very grateful to him! The hike is easy, you will feel pleasantly toned, the views are stunning, like really gorgeous!! The lagoons are refreshing and not super cold, the emerald color of the water is true and amazing. The road is a bit curvy closer to the destination so if you have a motion sickness you kight want to keep a pill in your pocket, but our guide knowing this was so careful with the driving that I did not need it in the end.

Great beginner hike - Very nice scenery and not too hard of a hike. Very beginner friendly, as it was pretty flat. Guides were really nice.

Gorgeous, delightful, well worth the trip - Our guides were superb and such good company, and the hike itself + waterfalls were beautiful. We went on a cloudy day, and it was still drop-dead gorgeous. It was a perfect day trip from Porto for our group of friends. The following day, we went to a local movie theatre to watch an independent film (Légua), which featured one of the views we’d seen on the hike, and the wild wolves our guide had talked about in Geres also made a brief appearance. It was a lovely full circle experience, where the fabric of Portugal was shared with us in person on the hike and again in this devastatingly beautiful movie.

Fantastic day out of the city! - Fantastic time out of the city! Not too hard of a hike, slight incline at times, rocky road but otherwise flat! Took over 1.5 hours to reach destination, minibus has air con too. Views are amazing, guide is patient and friendly (Joel). Remember to bring food, water, wet shoes and towels. Highly recommend, worth the money!! Book even if it says the weather looks bad, never believe the forecast in porto!

Park managed with Marco - We took an excursion to the managed park with Marco, a great guide who showed us a magnificent place for swimming in the lake and in a small picnic waterfall. Really thanks to Marco

wonderful day - Great day with a nice surprise seeing its natural swimming pools, not many people it was great! The big negative point which is not specified is that we left at 8:30 a.m. from the starting point and we only arrived at 11:40 a.m. at the starting point of the hike (1h30 of hiking which was great) for the route we had took 2h30 which is pretty good. Good experience to have nonetheless. I recommend
