- John Paul Jones House, part of the Portsmouth Historical Society - Built in 1758, the John Paul Jones House is said to be home to more ghosts than a Maine boat holds lobsters. Some claim that John Paul Jones himself lingers in the room he once occupied, while others have witnessed an angry spirit opening cabinets and slamming doors.
- The Music Hall - Over the past century, world-renowned acts have performed here, including magician Harry Houdini, gun-slinging Buffalo Bill Cody, and the clever Mark Twain. The performances were so captivating that the ghosts decided to stay.
