- Porto - In the early morning, the guide will pick up the guests from their accommodation in a comfortable vehicle and drive north, crossing the border into Spain on the way to Santiago de Compostela. During the journey, the guide will provide insights and information about Northern Portugal, the Spanish region of Galicia, Santiago de Compostela, St. James, and the path of Saint James.
- Santiago de Compostela - Upon arriving in Santiago 2 hours and 30 minutes after departing Porto, the guide will show the historical center of Santiago and lead guests to the entrance of Santiago Cathedral. Guests will then have free time to explore the interior of the cathedral independently, attend a mass, or witness the “Botafumeiro” celebration.
- Santiago de Compostela. Casco Historico - In the historical center of Santiago, a full gastronomic experience will be offered at a traditional tapas restaurant! Guests can enjoy a variety of Spanish tapas and drinks, sampling some of the local special dishes.
- Valenca - On the return journey to Portugal, before heading back to Porto, there will be a stop at the border in Valença do Minho. This historical village in Portugal is renowned for its “Vauban” style fortress! It features many local shops where guests can browse and purchase local art and crafts.
- Porto - Around 6 PM, the guide will drop guests off at their accommodation or any desired location in Porto city.

Join us on an 8-hour excursion to Santiago de Compostela, a globally renowned pilgrimage site, and Valença do Minho, a historic town known for its Great Wall. You’ll have some leisure time in Santiago de Compostela to check out the historic center and marvel at its magnificent Cathedral. A lunch is provided to give you a taste of local cuisine. Before we head back to Porto, we’ll drop by Valença do Minho for a guided exploration of the ancient town.
- We pick up from any hotel in Porto or Gaia city center. In alternative, we can collect you from the Tourist Service/Living Tours located at Rua Mouzinho da Silveira, 350, Porto - next to Porto - São Bento train station.Reservation is mandatory and requires na emai request/confirmation. Bookings must be confirmed at least 48 hours befor the date of the servisse. Cancellations within 48 hours or less will be fully charged.
- Vegetarian and gluten-free meals are available if requested before the tour. Inform us before the tour starts.

Don't miss experience - What a fabulous day! Our fuide, Miguel, was phenomenal. A wealth of knowledge of some much and very approachable. Spain's landscape was beautiful and the city of Santiago was so unique. Food was amazing!!! Valencia was lovely. Best day. Don't miss as it is so worth the time.

Porto tours - The tour guide/ driver is Orlando. He is very nice. Answered lots of questions not related to the tour. Would recommend. So far all the tours I had with living tours and e.fun tours at all good. Can’t complain

Excellent experience! - Very pleasant trip in a small group of 8 tourists. We explored, listened to the masses, had lunch. Valensa is a very beautiful place, a longer stay would be welcome. Special congratulations to our guide Manuel, who was a perfect driver and guide!

Simplely incredible - One of the hardest things about traveling with young kids is keeping them involved. Nuno did a great job making it fun and entertaining for everyone. Would definitely recommend this trip. Santiago is truely one of those once in a lifetime places.

Very enjoyable and informative tour!! - Valdemar was our tour guide and - wow - what a great job he did! The tour was well organized and instructions were clear for departure. The tour left on time. Valdemar explained the history of the areas we drove through, most of the way to Santiago. His knowledge is extensive and my husband, who enjoys history, asked many questions which Valdemar always answered with enjoyment. His meeting up instructions were always clear so were knew where and when to meet him. It’s our first exposure to Living Tours and Get Your Guide but it won’t be our last, thanks to Valdemar!

DESIRABLE, INTERESTING BUT WITH FLAWS. - Tour 22.10.2025
Guide Pedro Costa and driver Nuno. Good performance, communication ability and interest in history and provide the best possible Service.
Cons: not inclusion of collective fast lunch, limitation of time for cultural and religious visits.
Tips: more time available, fast lunch for everyone.
