Casal de Loivos - This quaint village, also located in the heart of the Douro Valley, is renowned for its magnificent panoramic vistas of the Douro River and the surrounding vineyards, earning it the nickname “belvedere of the Douro”. Ponte Pedonal Metalica de Peso da Regua - Constructed in 1872 by King D. Luís I for road crossing of the Douro River, this metal bridge was decommissioned in 1949 due to the deterioration of its wooden deck. The original design was by engineer W. Liebe, later modified by engineer Johann Gaspar Harkort, with construction overseen by German engineer Wilherm Dulhener from the Eifel team.
Peso Da Regua - Known as the capital of the Douro wine region, this town is a vital center for the wine industry. It hosts the Douro Museum, which highlights the region’s history and culture, including exhibits on the production and marketing of Port wine.

The stunning Douro Valley hills. - The Douro Valley is stunning and a must-see if you are in the area. Our driver Delfina was exceptional. She was very knowledgeable of the Duro Valley and drove the mountains area as if she had memorized the roads. The van was very comfortable, and the ride was smooth. The roads are very curvy in Douro, so keep that in mind if you get carsick. Our tours ran long, and Delfina allowed us to stay longer than our day planned for. The red wines are not as fully body as I prefer in comparison than those from the Daos region, but that did not detract from the visit at all. Delfina and her team made the trip very enjoyable.
