Douro river with kids - We have a teenager and 2 young kids and were a little hesitant to book the Douro river experience with wine tasting but we were immediately put at ease by our fantastic guide Ricardo who made us feel welcome and engaged with our kids. We had a comfortable ride with only another couple so it felt more personal and we got a trove of information from Ricardo about the Douro valley wine industry and its history. Ricardo studied wine and is in the process of taking the rigorous sommelier exams and is therefore a fantastic resource. Our kids were provided with snacks and juices so they did not feel left out. The river cruise was great and the best part was the scenic train along the river. We got to experience the Douro in three different ways. I highly recommend this tour. Ask for Ricardo

A day along the Douro - Lovely day touring the Douro countryside. Our guide José was a real wine expert and had lots of facts, details and provided interesting context. The ride to our first stop was a little over an hour. We tasted port wine at a small, beautiful and boutique estate. The boat ride was about an hour along the river providing excellent views of the valley with sparkling wine and snacks. This was followed by a delicious lunch at a local restaurant with local wines. Unfortunately the train did not run the day of our tour due to track delays and maintenance from some nasty weather but our guide made the best of it and showed us some local sights instead. Overall a great day and I’d recommend for those who like wine, rural vistas and don’t mind a few hours of car travel.

Douro Valley - This tour was perfect. Not too long or short. We got to experience the Douro Valley by vehicle, boat, and train, which was a great way to see it from different perspectives. Manuel, our guide, was the BEST! He gave us a lot of info about the valley and winemaking and a little bit of the area's history. The food and drink was amazing for lunch, boat snacks/drinks and the winery. Book this one - a nice mix of things to do.

A wonderful time in the Douro Valley - This tour was 4 hours of fun! The drive up to the Kopke Winery was filled with beautiful sites as well as eye closing as the road is narrow and it is two way driving. Then a boat ride on the Duoro River and lunch in Pinhao. We then did a train ride - the rail station had beautiful tiles - which provided another perspective on the river. Then we stopped off at the Church and Monastery of St. Goncalo. It has different architectural styles including the Renaissance, Mannerism and Baroque. Out tour guide, Manuel, was fabulous!!! Full of information and smiles galore.

A joyful Trip - The giude and driver has a nice arrangement to setup the whole trip, we enjoy the wine and olive oil tasting then take a train to view the Duro river. Next, we have a cherrful lunch. The final activity is boating on the Duro river, we have a nice time during sailing the boat.

Great scenic trip in Portugal - Whole experience was great. We enjoyed boat ride and winery visit the most. Douro valley is a beautiful place and this was a very good way to see it.
