Best Guide! - We (a group of 4) recently did the Douro Valley tour with Anselmo. In short, you cannot pick a better guide than Anselmo, he gave us a true VIP experience. He kept us entertained with some great facts and pointed out the sights on the drive to the valley. We stopped at a nice overlook spot for pictures upon entering the valley. Anselmo let us choose between a boat ride on the river or an extra wine tasting stop. We chose the boat ride. It was nice to be on the water and the views were great. After that we stopped at a nice winery and did a tasting. Anselmo very clearly explained all the ins and outs of port wine. Next Anselmo took us to an extremely beautiful hotel and restaurant for lunch. This was unexpected. The food was amazing and included more wine than we could drink. I was a little concerned that the bill was going to be huge given the quality of the food and how nice the place was. It turned out to be extremely reasonable in price. Finally we toured the wine making facilities at the same hotel. This was my favorite part as the facility is integrated into the side of the mountain and is architecturally spectacular. Anselmo is knowledgeable and answered all of our questions, but he was never overwhelming with too many facts or speeches. He strikes just the right balance. He also has the hook ups with the best places to visit. Use Anselmo for all of your Porto area tour needs. You cannot go wrong!

An incredible experience in The Douro Valley - The absolute best experience with Anselmo! He picked us up on time from our hotel in Porto and whisked us away to the Douro valley. Along the way he provided us with great information about the history of the area. We also stopped a few times for fantastic views,pictures and information about the vineyards. We visited two wineries. One for an amazing lunch, tasting snd winery tour and one for delicious port tasting. We could not have had a better day! Anselmo was so knowledgeable, personable and professional. I’ve already referred him to my Dad and his friends who will be visiting Porto next month!

Douro Valley wine tasting, and lunch experience to remember - As middle-aged couples on our first trip to Porto, the agenda was phenomenal. The guide was fantastic, giving enough information, but not pointing out everything in the world. And he truly had a skip the line type experience. He made all the arrangements nothing was needed for us in advance. The car was comfortable. Waters were provided, and he got us access to a wonderful boat cruise, port tastings, lunch experience with views of the river and access to the wine caves and a wine manufacturing experience that I just don’t think you’d get with other group tours. He never seemed rushed, but at the same time, kept the tour moving along at a great pace. Lastly, his personality was fantastic and jived really well with our group.

Wine trip through the Duoro - We had a fantastic day in the Duoro with Anselmo. We stopped at two wineries, each with beautiful grounds, incredible views and tasty wine. Anselmo knew the valley and the wines like the back of his hand and was able to tailor the trip to what he thought we might enjoy the most. Great day trip when in Porto, highly recommend and will be doing it again when I return with family!

A must do in Porto - Anselmo was a great guide. He was fun to talk with and had a solid knowledge of Porto and the Douro valley. He took us to beautiful views that we never would have found in our own and to amazing wineries. You can’t go wrong by taking a tour with Anselmo, I highly recommend it.

Great day trip - Anselmo is super friendly and easy to talk to. If you only have one day to see the Duoro Valley it’s a decent way to get a nice lunch and see a couple of wineries and try some different wines. We had a really fun time.

Pleasant and non-stressful - An hour-long cruise. Planned a warmer sweater. Beautiful scenery. Our guide provided us with a lot of information. His knowledge of wine and wine history was really interesting. Visit 2 vineyards (Croft and Moreira) and an excellent lunch in Moreira. The views of the Douro Valley are spectacular. I recommend the Anselma guide.

Must-see Tour from Porto - Breathtaking landscapes and visits to excellent vineyards. A wonderful day with our guide Anselm who is very kind. He is very knowledgeable, funny and very friendly.
