• Porto Novo - Upon arrival at Porto Novo, guests will be greeted at the Garemaritima terminal by a local guide who will take them on a car tour of the Island’s Highlights in just one day! Begin the adventure by ascending through the mountains.
• Porto Novo-Ribeira Grande Road - Start the journey by climbing through the mountains along the historic cobblestone road, passing by small communities with traditional thatched-roof homes, donkeys transporting water, farmers tending the land, and the diligent locals of this remarkable area.
• Pico da Cruz - Pause at Pico da Cruz, above the clouds, surrounded by lush pine forests and eucalyptus trees. Enjoy the cool breeze and take in the stunning view of Paúl from above.
• Cova de Paúl - At the top of Cova, enjoy breathtaking views inside the crater; the mist from the clouds allows this farming community to be self-sufficient.
• Delgadinho mountain ridge - Continue to Delgadinho, the narrow mountaintop crossing that separates the two major valleys, Ribeira Grande & Ribeira da Torre; it’s a popular spot for photographs while visiting Santo Antão.
• Ribeira Grande - Arrive at the vibrant city of Povacao, one of the main cities in Ribeira Grande, featuring colonial and modern homes, along with beautiful street art. A stop for lunch in town is included.
• Xôxô - Visit Ribeira de Torre, one of the greenest and most fertile valleys in Cabo Verde, where bananas, mangos, sugar cane, and breadfruit trees thrive. There’s also a large tank pool used by locals for swimming and recreation.
• Ponta Do Sol - Proceed to the fishing village of Ponta do Sol, with its historic port of Boca de Pistola (Mouth of the Pistol), where visitors can witness the fishermen’s arrival and see the day’s catch.
• Beth d’Kinha - Sample the local rum, Grogue, produced here, and visit the distillery to learn about its production.
• Paul - Continue to the municipality of Paúl, featuring a grand Saint Anthony statue overlooking Villa das Pombas for protection. In the village of Eito, visit the rum distillery, also known as Grogue, and enjoy a tasting.
• Janela - Return to Porto Novo via Janela on the new, breathtaking coastal road, passing through intriguing mountain tunnels and viewing the lighthouse, Farol de Fontes Pereira de Melo.
• Gare Marítima porto de Porto Novo - ENAPOR - Arrive at Porto Novo in time to catch the afternoon ferry to São Vicente. Upon arrival at the harbor, a transfer to accommodation in Mindelo will be provided.
