Pick up was awkward, but we understood later why t was necessary to meet the van outside of Portland city limits. The weather was perfect which helped. We visited three vineyards ... each with a unique vibe. The hosts were gracious and passionate and knowledgeable. When the hosts did not provide a fruit/cheese/vegetable pairing, Ralph went into his secret trove and produced an appropriate selection of tasty treats. We were very happy we had chosen to do a private tour as we learned more and were very relaxed. The valley is an Oregon treasure. Ralph shared the history of the valley which added to the overall experience.

Ralph and Grape Escape are simply fantastic! Ralph’s knowledge of the Valley and the vineyards were amazing, interesting and not “too much”. We chose for him to take us to 3 “off the beaten path” vineyards. All were beautiful, not rushed and had fantastic wines. He provided snacks and a delicious lunch. He asked about dietary restrictions and provided dairy free cheese for the 1 person in our group. We were looking for a fun experience learning about Oregon wines and that is exactly what we got. David was knowledgeable and interesting as a tour guide. The food pairings worked out very well. We opted for a surprise option in which they choose where we go and we have no regrets. Even our non- drinker enjoyed the day!
