Incredible! - Kayaking in Laguna Del Inca was incredible! My tour guide was Frank, and I enjoyed his company for the day. He was prompt, spoke good English (my Spanish is terrible), and is an all around good guy. He gave me the option of kayaking in a single or a double with him. Even though I am experienced at kayaking, I chose the double so that I could take lots of pics and just enjoy the scenery. The highlight was us being the only ones on the water!! Absolutely beautiful place — pictures don’t do it justice!! It is a pricey excursion for a solo traveller, but I thought it was worth it for the unique experience of kayaking in the Andes. The drive to Portillo is very scenic as well (take Dramamine if you get motion sickness — lots of switchbacks).

What an amazing day!! - We were the first kayakers of the year and enjoyed every moment of our experience. Our guide was fantastic and made the drive very enjoyable by talking about the country but also allowing us to nap! We even enjoyed the music during the drive :) There was nothing negative about our experience - even the boxed lunch was great! And made better by climbing onto rocks overlooking the beautiful lagoon, enjoying the incredible views while we ate. This was our favourite excursion by far during our visit to Chile (and we did a lot of fun stuff). Kudos to Andes Explora and their crew - you do a fantastic job! I hope they keep this trip, and that people take it. For inexperienced kayakers, this is totally doable. You can go at your own pace and your guide will be there to assist and instruct if needed. There is also a lunch break if you need to rest a bit. For experienced kayakers - you will still enjoy this. We kayak all the time and thought the paddle was just the right amount of activity and distance. It is also very cool to be able to say we kayaked in the Andes mountains at such a high altitude! The highlight of the day was sliding down the hill in the snow, on our kayaks. Probably the only time we will do that!
