Excellent Experience! - Rudy was an excellent guide-punctual, friendly, knowledgeable, and multilingual. We had a great time walking around Port Louis tasting a variety of delicious foods and learning about the rich history and culture of the city and the country. We came away with full stomachs and a greater understanding of Mauritius.

Great insight into the history of Mauritius through food - Our guide was very knowledgeable and told us all about the history of Mauritius through the food as well as stopping at landmarks and a small natural history museum to talk about the animals of the island. It was a great way to see a lot of Port Louis that we wouldn’t have got to see otherwise. It was busy and hot and a lot of fun. The food itself was really good - some of it was a bit spicy but nothing we couldn’t handle. If you don’t have a good spice tolerance then you have been warned! Thank you to the team and to our guide (I have unfortunately forgotten his name, but I think it was Christian). Would highly recommend this tour to everyone!

A brilliant, insightful tour! - This excellent tour gives a great insight into the cultural evolution and history of Mauritius and how that is reflected in the local food specialities. All this was given context by our walking tour which visited off the beaten track corners of Port Louis, sampling the local foods, visiting markets, crafts people, small shops (with no pressure to buy anything at all) and religious sites. It was made so interesting by the very charming and extremely well informed narrative from the delightful Jaya. We would strongly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to understand what Mauritius is all about and how it came to be the extraordinary place it is today!

Multifaceted discovery of Port Louis and Mauritius - Very nice experience mixing culture and culinary! The group is made up of people from different backgrounds and is driven by Rudy: energetic and passionate guide!! We travel back in time listening to the history of the island and in space crossing the neighborhoods of Port Louis, we stop in “gargotes” and Rudy explains, goes to get the dishes then we eat in the back of restaurants or in the street... delicious!!! We were lucky to be with nice tourists, and we spent 2h30 very pleasant!!!

Excellent street food and history tour - Fantastic food tour with added advantage of getting a full Mauritian history run down as well. So two in one. Went away from the tourist area and the food tastings were very varied so would not have otherwise tried. Chris was an excellent guide and would highly recommend.

Definitely a tour worth doing in an empty stomach - Rudy was so great! He was very knowledgeable not just about the history of Port Louis but also about the various migrant workers that adapted their home foods to fit the Mauritian climate and create the Mauritian street food we tasted. We loved how he structured the tour, giving us a starter, main and dessert, all which sharing his vast knowledge. Rudy was incredibly energetic from start to finish, despite the long walk. Our biggest mistake was eating breakfast before the tour, because by the second food stop, it was getting difficult to keep eating, so definitely do this tour without having eaten because you WILL get full, but also, take water with you. One only critique is that the food stops come in very quick succession, once you start eating you don't stop. Which is great on an empty stomach.
