Batu Caves - Batu Caves is a limestone hill featuring a series of caves and cave temples in Gombak, Selangor. The limestone forming Batu Caves is estimated to be around 400 million years old. Some cave entrances were historically used as shelters by the indigenous Temuan people, a tribe of Orang Asli. The cave is one of the most popular Hindu shrines outside India, dedicated to Lord Murugan, and serves as the focal point of the Thaipusam festival in Malaysia. Batu Caves is also known as the 10th Cave or Hill for Lord Muruga, with six important holy shrines in India and four in Malaysia. The other three in Malaysia are Kallumalai Temple in Ipoh, Tanneermalai Temple in Penang, and Sannasimalai Temple in Malacca.
