Magnificent corals, great company - Fantastic experience with Calypso. We did a dive/ snorkeling experience. Staff were very professional and friendly with good focus on safety. The weather was not great with very high winds so our tour was diverted from Agincourt to Opal reef where we did two shallow dives and a snorkel after lunch. The coral formation are incredible, looked almost unreal, like an underwater botanical garden. Our snorkeling was at low tide and we saw as much as we did on the dive. Although getting to the reef was rough, te overall experience was well worth it and better than anything we could have done on land given the weather. The team at Calypso are a good choice for your trip. The boat is big and not too crowded and stable once you get to the shelter of thebreef so putting on gear is fine and very easy to get in and out of the boat. All equipment supplied. Shorty wetsuits but a few long ones on asking for people who get really cold. Bring something warm to wear afterwards as you will get cold even with warm seas. An absolute highlight of a tour.

Top notch experience and crew - This reef experience was fantastic. We visited 3 different reef sites for snorkeling. They were each interesting in their own ways, and there was plenty of time to enjoy each (a full hour at each stop). We also saw a few whales on the way out to the reefs. Everything about the experience was top notch. You can tell the crew is experienced in hospitality and safety. The boat and equipment was clean and tidy. There were fresh water showers available in the bathrooms for a rinse off. Highly recommended!

Highly recommend - This company is very well run. Everyone we interacted with was professional and very friendly. The ship was clean and food really good. We did 3 dives in one day and they made us feel safe and excited. We saw amazing coral and sea life . Our guide Ruth was a great person and made all feel very comfortable. Loved that we were broken up in to small groups .

5 stars! - Had a splendid time! Two of us were nervous about swimming so Dave took us around with him for a tour, twice. Very grateful that we met Dave. Dave is very nice man. Bruno too. Nice seeing jellyfish. Many of them were there. May have swallowed one - is that okay? Sturdy boat. Good design. Good bathroom layout. Good sink. Good equipment. Ideal numbers. Masks were only okay quality. They provided prescription goggles which was amazing! Also accommodated for our individual physical and dietary requirements. Overall good performance by the fish, and eagle-ray cameo was well planned. Good service, enjoyed! Would come again to see more reefs before they all go bleached!

Fabulous day with Calypso! - Just back from a reef snorkelling trip with Calypso. What an awesome day from start to finish! We were lucky in that there were only 22 passengers so it was like a private charter. The boat was a catamaran with lots of space. Clean and comfy. All equipment you need is provided; mask, snorkel, fins and stinger suit. Good quality kit and pretty new. All the crew were really friendly and helpful but we had most interaction with Claudia and Linnea. Claudia did the safety briefing, told us where were going and took all the fabulous pictures. She was great; witty and very helpful. Linnea took us on a reef tour and took care of food and beverages. She was very helpful and friendly too. Lunch was great with lots of items for vegetarians (as I am). We had 3 separate 1hr snorkelling stops on Opal reef. The visibility was great and the coral was so colourful, varied and beautiful. Saw lots of wildlife and saw a reef shark too! It was mesmerising. Claudia took lots of pictures of the passengers on the boat and in the water. The photos she took were stunning! Wonderful colours and great clarity. We bought all the pictures of us and the pictures she took of the reef. So happy! Very reasonable price for the photos. Another member of the crew gave a good talk about the reef and its wildlife. Very informative. Positives: equipment, boat, organisation, food and beverages, snorkelling stops, crew, photos Negatives: nothing we could think of. In summary, Calypso is a great outfit to explore the fabulous, sensational GBR. This was such a memorable day and I’m so glad to have chosen Calypso. Highly recommend. Great thanks to Claudia and Linnea.

Outer Barrier reef tour - What an amazing experience. We snorkelled on two of the reefs and had an introductory scuba dive on the third. The snorkelling was fantastic but the Scuba diving was another level. Mike our instructor was excellent , very calm, supportive and encouraging making our first experience of Scuba perfect. The crew were excellent hosts , the food throughout the day was very good and all the time they had one eye on everyone's safety. An unforgettable experience that we can't recommend highly enough.

Worth every minute! - This was an amazing way to explore the Great Barrier Reef! There were enough staff on board to help everyone and ensure safety, the food was excellent, and the tour itself was outstanding. It does list as a long time but it is worth every minute from the boat ride, to swimming in the reef, and being in awe of the beauty that you were surrounded by the entire time. If i ever go back to Port Douglas I will book this tour no doubt and have already recommended it to many of my friends and family!

Perfect Trip out to the Outer Reef - We had been on bigger boats to the outer reef in the past and decided this year to choose an operator with a smaller number of people. And we chose the perfect operator in Calypso. The staff on the boat were brilliant and extremely helpful. The food was simple and fresh, the staff was making efforts to keep the boat clean and clearing dishes even! It was great to have three separate places to snorkel over the course of the day. Chose a perfect day, and trade winds even played ball - sea was calm, and water clarity was surprisingly good - saw heaps of varieties of fish, clams, turtles, The group size was perfect too - enough to talk to a few people while not too much. Overall, a very enjoyable day! So much so we went with Calypso on the Low Isles later that week.

A fun day out at sea - Wonderful crew and boat! We were in the outer reef so be prepared for a long (2hour) ride out. We stopped at 3 locations. The crew is very knowledgeable and very safe. Things to be prepared for: the ride can be very wet especially if you are in the exposed parts of the ship. If you are prone to motion sickness take the ginger tab they offer and consider bringing wrist bands for motion sickness. The reefs are worth wait
