Great way to explore Sete Cidades! - We're so glad we took the half day Jeep tour with Filipe! He's a friendly and wonderful guide with a great sense of humor and deep knowledge of the island's history to match. We saw so much within a few hours, and the views were spectacular! While it's possible to rent a car or hike, we loved the chance to explore the island with a local guide (Azores born-and-raised) and to be able to visit not-so-easily accessible areas we wouldn't have known to look for. Filipe also customized the tour on the fly and tailored conversation and information to match our interests. We never felt rushed, and he was more than willing to stop for photos wherever we wished. Beyond the tour, Filipe also shared some of his favorite local recommendations, and we really enjoyed visiting Restaurante da Associação Agrícola de São Miguel as a result. We'd highly recommend this tour, especially if you're here for a short time, or if you simply want to get a grasp for the Western part of São Miguel and learn more about its history!

Great tour - We had a great time, views were great. We took the half day tour in the Ford Raptor, it turned out a great comfortable choice as it has great suspension, the nice comfortable interior if it rains and the off road capability to see much more than a pavement only trip would have offered. Not to sound like a Ford commercial haha, just a nice comfortable relaxing way to see amazing views. Filipe was great, friendly, told us about the island, great driver, and in general a fun guide to spend a few hours with. Highly recommend.

The very best of Sao Miguel - Excellent tour. He was super patient, informative and took us to the best spots of Sete Cidades. A great tour and must to do if you can’t or don’t have the time to hike up and back

Best back road view. - A gente gostamos muito foi uma meravilha, Phillip foi muito bom para a gente. Ele moustranos muitos coisas lindas. Phillip is a really good guide. He brought us places that you can't see without a 4x4.

The best excursion on Sao Miguel - The excursion was amazing! 10/10 would recommend. This was an easy way to tour the area in half a day. The views were amazing and our guide was Philipe was the best. The fresh air of being on an ATV was unmatched. We drove to the top of the volcanic area which overlooked Lagoa Verde and Lagoa Azul. Then we drove into Sete Cidades and had a snack and some drinks. We ended the trip by driving along the north coast. Obrigado Philipe!

Exploring the island like a local! - It was such a pleasure to spend time with Tony. He was friendly, informative, and accommodating. Setting up the excursion was easy and straightforward. Tony is a “Local” and this is evident in his knowledge of the island. We didn’t know exactly what we wanted to see in our short time there. We were on a very limited schedule and Tony was very respectful of our time. He was waiting for us when we arrived and he got us back at our agreed time. Tony customized the day for us after making several suggestions. He allowed us to set the pace as we opted to spend more time at some stops and less time at others. He shared interesting anecdotes throughout our tour including personal experiences as well as historical tidbits. He made sure that we had freedom and personal space on our stops throughout the tour but was also quick to oblige when we asked him to join us at other stops. Tony really went above and beyond with our final request to visit a local grocery store! He helped us select some local foods, acted as a translator for us when needed, and even helped us to carry everything!

Ford Raptor Tour - We had a great time on our tour with Sergio! We had our own rental car but it was great to see parts of the island we wouldn’t normally explore with a local! Beautiful sights and a great tour guide!

Off-Roading in the Magnificent Azores! Absolute Must Do! - We had a fabulous half day! Touring Azores, Ponta Delgada, with Sergio from Azores Outdoor Activities through Viator!! The owner and tour guide were above and beyond friendly and accommodating! We booked our Quad Bike tour to Sete Citades, way in advance of our cruise that would port there. We were way excited to 4-wheel in the beautiful landscape of the Azores villages. However, because of 2 medical emergencies during our 7 day cross of the Atlantic, we were several hours delayed in making it to port. The day before our scheduled reservation, we were notified that our ship was not going to port in time for our reservation!! We called Outdoor Adventures directly. The owner answered and kindly told us they would not be able to reschedule the Quad bikes because they were already booked out for the rest of the day. He offered to find another off-road adventure for us, if I could give him an hour. He was able to contact another tour guide and had a Ford Rapture Truck for us!! It was even better than the Quad Bikes would’ve been because it was raining and cold!! In the truck we were very comfortable and dry!! Sergio was extremely knowledgeable about of the islands and villages. He was absolutely great fun! Thank you Sérgio and Azores Outdoor Adventures!!

Holiday Highlight - We had such a fantastic time doing this, and I think it was my holiday highlight! My boyfriend wanted to do this for his birthday, and I was happy to go, but secretly didn’t think it would be my thing. It was AMAZING. We travelled much further than I expected, and after a short rain shower, arrived to brilliant sunshine - I love how the weather changes across the island. You get a mixture of towns and mountain tracks, and so many different perspectives. Felipe gave really clear instructions, and the pace was just right. We went up mountain paths that we wouldn’t have been able to access otherwise, and the views across Sete Cidades were just breathtaking. Felipe was very knowledgeable, super lovely, but not in your face; he stepped back and let us explore, and took some really nice photos of us. The information he shared was genuinely interestjng. It was so fun, and not at all noisy and dirty like I expected :-)
