On our tour to Furnas, we start either by the North or South coast, exploring hidden roads and enjoying magnificent views.
A stop at the tea plantation is always refreshing. This is where the famous Azorean tea, both Black and Green, is produced at the only natural tea factory in Europe, established in 1883. This tea culture was introduced to us by the Chinese in the 19th century.
Our journey continues to the stunning Lagoa das Furnas, a picturesque lake surrounded by verdant hillsides and lush vegetation. Take a moment to soak in the serene ambiance of this natural oasis and capture stunning photographs of the breathtaking scenery.
We will return via the South coast, taking in many viewpoints and beaches along the way. We will also make a stop at Nossa Senhora da Paz to see Vila Franca do Campo, which was once the first city on the island of São Miguel.
