It is definitely worth... - Daniela was our guide, and she made the experience unforgettable. My husband and I toured Pompeii previously, and this visit allowed us to see new areas and artifacts. She was so kind and patient when we had to take breaks and enthusiastically answered our myriad questions. We would love to have her as our guide on future tours.
It is definitely worth the time, money, and travel. There is not much shade so I would definitely bring water and an umbrella.

Private tour for Family Group - We had a lovely afternoon with Daniela touring through the ruins of Pompeii. She was enthusiastic and picked out some of the most interesting places for us to see over the very large area. As well she answered all of our extra questions about the water, paintings and directed us on how best to use the rest of our visit. Daniela also found us some water and shade on a hot day!

Mariano (private tour) ROCKED POMPEII - Mariano ROCKED!
Mariano (+39 333 4028141) was OUTSTANDING!!
Staying at Hotel Vittoria Maura booked him for my wife, another couple and me!
EXTREMELY knowledgeable, tremendous dialogue as we had many questions. Seeing Pompeii with a private competent guide is well worth the price, which was extremely reasonable! The story of Pompeii is incredible and a MUST SEE for all! OUTSTANDING learning experience!

All kinds of yes! - We paid about $200 USD for a 2 hour private guide which only covers the guide’s time. So gratuity and entrance fees are excluded. We took the Circumvesuviana train from stazione Garibaldi in Naples and exited at Pompei Scavi Villa dei Misteri station and walked a short walk downhill to the rendezvous at Ristorante Suisse where we met Carmine for our 9am appointment. Our train was late but Carmine kindly waited.
We pre-purchased our park entry tickets on the official ticketone webpage. so Carmine wisked us passed the lines and into the park with our tickets already in hand. Carmine’s English fluency was advanced and accent easy to understand. He had his own park pass and showed us his Italian guide license. On many occasions during the tour, he spoke to park employees who let us pass through to sites before throngs of crowds, sort of getting us to the front of the line. It felt a little like we were VIPs.
Carmine’s knowledge was deep and enriched our experience. He shared what the sites were that we looked at, the purpose and the culture of it all. The information made Pompeii come alive. We left enchanted with Pompeii and we are so grateful to Carmine for sharing his knowledge.

Pompeii fantastic - Pompeii is already beautiful now compared to the well-organized past and have opened many sites but what made it fantastic was the fortune to have as a guide prof. Bruno Pisano , well prepared but above all fine connoisseur of the ancient world. a unique experience especially because he has the ability to immerse you in the world of those who were living it at the time. How the Romans saw life, the joy of life and how the gods marked the rhythm of life. In short, it felt like walking around in an intact Pompeii that he was living. If you have to go to Pompeii try to choose prof. As a guide, he will give you a wide introduction will take you to lesser known places and always with small group. What about thank you prof for giving us a unique experience.

Daniela was fantastic especially with our kids - thank you Daniela! - We had Daniela who was absolutely fantastic. We had a 10 and 7 year old who were very interested and she was brilliant with them. I know they will remember their visit! The 4 year old was challenging (tired, hot, etc) but Daniela was very understanding. There were 7 of us overall in our group and in general we were a bit of a chaotic group (running late, high stress levels!) but Daniela was so nice and made sure we saw key sites and learned more about Pompeii. I would recommend Daniela to anyone for a tour of Pompeii.

Private tour of Pompei, with an Official Guide - Our guide Claudia has shown us and explained the most important sites of Pompeii. Avoiding crowds as much as possible, his experience allowed us to access efficiently the most congested spots. Perfect day to discover the place.

Great for families - An excellent tour with Alona which both our children (7 & 10) enjoyed very much. Cannot recommend highly enough. A private tour is well worth the investment, allowing you to avoid the crowds and ensure the kids get the most from the experience.
