Impressive ruins of Pompeii - We did the Pompeii Tour through Askos on a Tuesday in September. Our Tour Guide was easy to find, just outside of the entrace. We had a party of 8 for our group.
I believe our guide was Philip. He was very knowledgeable who had passion for Pompeii and its environment. He spoke English, and literally talked for almost 3 hours straight. Both my wife and I were impressed.
I love history and especially Roman architecture, so I was excited to visit Pompeii and learn more about it in person, rather than what I had watched on the History channel. And it was impressive. The scope and size of the city, and how it was covered in ash and mud after the explosion of Vesuvius was well worth it. The guide was so good at explaining the history, and the ongoing recovery of artifacts.
What was not impressive was the amount of trash that so many idiot tourists left behind on the ruins and walkways. It was disappointing, and I find it hard to understand how current people care so little for the past. Why even go?
Except for that issue, everything was wonderful.
One more piece of history checked off the bucket list.

The guided tour with archaeologist is a must! - We were looking forward to this tour which was a must during our trip to the Amalfi Coast. The 3h tour with our guide Francesco Longobardi really exceeded our expectations. He guided us during the tour in impeccable French and immersed us in the lives of the Pompeians who lived in this city before the great eruption of 79 AD. Thank you for this great experience!

Great tour - Great guide (Sergio) - We were traveling with Sergio. He guided us fantastically through Pompeii. He is an archaeologist, and has guided us with a great deal of knowledge. Has also answered all the questions that were asked very well. We can visit Pompei for everyone and want to know more than the normal tours should book this tour. Worth it!!! Grazie Sergio!

An unforgettable experience that can only be recommended! - We booked this tour for a Saturday. At the pickup point we were greeted by our guide, Sergio. An incredible knowledgeable man with a great passion for Pompeii and its tales. Sergio English is impeccable and full of passion he told us about Pompeii and its history, full of facts, anecdotes and stories. He answered all questions patiently and seemed exciting about every opportunity to teach us more.

Essential guided tour in Pompeii - Very interesting guided tour by Suzy, a competent guide. We took 3 hours of visit, with the villa of the Mysteries, and we did not see the time pass.

Sergio the guide was 10/10 - Our tour guide Sergio was unbelievable, funny, clear and incredibly knowledgable. He gave us such a clear vision of what Pompeii was like and definitely needs a pay rise. 10/10

Excellent three hour tour of Pompeii. - Three hour tour of Pompeii.
Very well organised.
Our guide, Miss Anna Sorrento, was excellent. Knowledgeable in an unshowy way. Distilled the tour into manageable sections.
This tour includes the Villa dei Misteri - I was for chickening out before we went but in fact this was well worth the visit
Pompeii is much bigger than I thought - so you cannot visit the whole site on the tour - but you are free to stay after the guided tour finished.
Two tips - comfy shoes - the ground is not even - but you knew that.
Take water. There is nowhere to buy on the tour once you are inside - but there is a tap to refill a bottle. Where you join the tour is cool and in the shade. Once in Pompeii it is very hot and exposed.
The tour starts from just across the road from the railway station. There is a shop there that sells water.

Great family experience with Alfredo - After making Herculaneum with an audio guide DE what was disappointing, we had the chance to visit Pompeii with Alfredo. He managed to fascinate the whole family, including our children DE 9 and 6 for 3 hours. The tour ends with the icing on the cake "the villa of mysteries".

Very nice 😊 - Julia is amazing she knows her subjects and also knows how to make it interesting for her audience.
We saw a good part of the ruins and we imagined as she said how those people lived before the catastrophic eruption.
