Fabulous, friendly and fun wine tasting experience! A must-visit cellar door! - McCaffrey's Estate Winery have a Wine Club named "Convivial" and that is such an apt description of the reception and experience you will receive the moment you arrive at the cellar door. Danielle and Declan, who own the family business, are just delightful people. They have a wonderful knowledge of wine-making and many enchanting stories of how some of the wines are named. Wines!!! Well from vivacious Verdhelo to a superb Sharaz the range of wines is superb and all of them very special. We have just enjoyed a wine tasting with Declan at the helm and inevitably walked out with a box of wine. The cheese from Hunter Belle that accompanied the wine was perfectly matched too! We have been members, convivial naturally, for a year and we are really looking forward to the "Winemaker for a Day" experience. There are so many wineries in the Hunter Valley and now, as locals, we are trying to find our favourites. McCaffrey's is right at the top of our list and you should make sure that you make time for a visit. I promise that you will be delighted with the wine and the experience.

McCaffrey's wine and cheese tasting is genuine and great value! - The McCaffrey wine and cheese tasting was excellent. It was very good value compared to some other well known wine companies which charge more and don't offer generous servings of high quality locally made cheeses. I learnt so much from Declan (owner), like the 'nose' of a wine, and I can now appreciate how drinking and eating food enhances the flavour and smoothness of wines. Declan explained how different processes of grapes affect the wine produced. I really appreciated Declan answering my questions as I'm a wine novice. He happily shared his knowledge. Whilst I tasted many of McCaffreys wines he's changed my view on Verdelho's. Their Verdelho's is great!

Excellent wines and cheeses - Declan and Danielle You were really nice hosts sharing your passion about wine. The white and red were very nice including the Cabernet Franc called "The Frenchman" :) The cheeses were very nice too and pairing really well with the wines and vice-versa... We will definitely enjoyed that experience and will keep in touch. Continue like that and see you soon. Thierry and Nerida

Relaxing and interesting visit - We had a fabulous stay at Cabernet Cottage at McCaffreys Wine Estate for 3 nights and we very much enjoyed the wine and cheese tasting while we were there. Declan and Danielle are excellent hosts and the cottage is very comfortable with beautiful views across the vines .

Enjoyed every minute of the wine and cheese experience - Superb and well presented, tjs wintry made our day. Declan was very welcoming and his winery is famous for its unwooded Chardonnay (actually a top tip from another winery). We enjoyed all the wines, though the Chablis style Chardonnay was our favorite. Wine and cheese are a fab combination and this winery didn’t disappoint. Thank you Declan for a great experience.

Great Wine Tasting! - Fantastic wine tasting experience, Declan was a joy and very professional. His knowledge and patience with us was great, we really enjoyed all the wines offered to us and just wish we were able to buy more but coming from the UK that was always going to hard.
