Drive from Pokhara (822m) to Birethanti (1263m) then Trek to Ulleri (1960m)
Ulleri - The journey from Pokhara to Birethanti takes about an hour and a half, following the Modi Khola and passing through numerous local villages and lush green hills. Upon reaching the charming village of Hile, the trek continues to Tikhedhunga, where the trail begins a steep ascent via a stone staircase. At the end of this path, the first destination of the Gorepani Poon Hill trek is reached, offering a breathtaking view of Hiunchuli and Mount Annapurna South.
Trek from Ulleri (1960m) to Ghorepani (2880m)
Ghorepani - As the sun rises over the mountains, breakfast is enjoyed with a stunning view. Leaving Ulleri behind, the second day’s journey to Ghorepani begins. This 4-5 hour trek passes through beautiful locations such as Banthanti, known for its Rhododendron and oak woodlands, and Nanggethanti, following the Bhrurngdi Khola. Much of the day is spent trekking through the jungle, where in spring, blooming Rhododendrons and a variety of wild birds and animals can be seen. The trek concludes at Ghorepani, which provides a magnificent view of Dhaulagiri, Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli.
Trek from Ghorepani (2880m) to Poon Hill (3210m) then to Tadapani (2630m)
Tadapani - Early in the morning, the trek to Poon Hill begins to witness one of the most spectacular sunrises imaginable. The panoramic view reveals the true beauty of Nepal, making Poon Hill a must-visit for photographers. The Himalayas, including Annapurna, Bahari Shikhar, Hiuchuli, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Manaslu, Machhapuchhre, and other peaks, are visible. After capturing the beauty of the Himalayas, the return to the lodge in Ghorepani is met with a delicious breakfast. The journey then continues with a descent to Tadapani. Although the day involves 7-8 hours of walking, including the climb to Poon Hill, the descent is easier and the scenery makes the time pass quickly, reaching Tadapani as the final destination for the day.
Trek from Tadapani (2630m) to Ghandruk (1940m) then take Bus/Jeep to Pokhara (822m)
Pokhara - It’s remarkable how quickly the days pass. On the fourth and final day in the hills, the journey concludes in the heart of Nepal, Pokhara, but there’s still a full day to enjoy. After the last breakfast in the hills, the descent to Ghandruk begins. The path leads through Rhododendron and Oak woodlands, with wildflowers adding to the memorable experience. Before realizing it, Ghandruk is reached, a village known for its local people, beautiful houses, and the fresh air reminiscent of Ghorepani. Ghandruk is a popular destination among Nepali tourists, offering stunning views of Annapurna South, Annapurna III, Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, and Hiuchuli. The village’s unique architecture is captivating, and from here, a vehicle is taken for a 3-hour journey back to Pokhara.
