Best guide in Tortuguero - Fantastic tour with an amazing knowledgeable and professional guide. Rafa is very charismatic and likes to makes friends with his guests. He is so experienced that he gives an unbelievable experience. Small groups allow an intimate experience. You won’t find better in Tortuguero( his hiking experience in the national park is excellent too)

Great tour! - We had the best day with Rafa! The tour around the canals was amazing. We saw lots of different animals and Rafa was the best guide with so much knowledge about the animals and the history of Tortuguero, and also with great humor. We highly recommend this tour.

An experience we are not about to forget. - An experience we are not about to forget. In addition to staying with Rafa and Jasmina we made the boat tour in Tortuguero Park to try to see animals. Rafa and Jasmina are adorable, always willing to help and eager to teach us a lot. Rafa speaks very good English and is currently learning French. The exchanges are always very rich. During the tour we saw many animals despite the pouring rain. A real added value to go around 4 in the boat and not 20 as you can sometimes see. I recommend 100%!

Canal tour and day and night walking - The best tours Tortuguero offers are Rafa. He strives to look for animals so that tourists can watch, he has a very good eye so we could see many! It respects the duration of each tour, is also very friendly and makes the tours have moments of much laughter. 100% recommended.

Fantastic (for families!) - Rafa is a fantastic guide. He has lived in Tortuguero all his life and therefore knows exactly where other boats do not go so quickly. We had the boat to ourselves with our family, which is nice if you travel with a toddler. Rafa tells from his own knowledge, speaks good English and knows how to spot animals everywhere that we could not possibly have found ourselves. We have seen several caimans, a large crocodile, monkeys, an iguana, bats and many different birds. He tries very hard to make it a nice experience for everyone, including our son who really enjoyed the tour (and therefore us too;)..).

Tortoise in a pure state. We found the special animal that got us back on the road. - Rafa is an exceptional, unrivalled and above all authentic naturalist guide! The canal tour with him was #puravida. Thanks for everything Mae:)

Best Part of My Trip So Far! - I’m SO GLAD I did my canal tour with Rafa! It was just me and one couple in the boat with Rafa so we were able to hear him clearly and it felt like a private excursion. All the other boats we saw had 10-30 people on them sitting in pairs on wither side of the boat - there’s no way they all had the same sightlines we did.
Rafa is wonderfully knowledgeable and somehow picks the green fauna out from among the green flora - things I never would have seen on my own - plus so many birds, monkeys, and a caiman.
I also recommend doing a night tour with Rafa. Again, much better experience than being with a huge tour group. It was so special seeing toucans and sloths sleeping up in the trees.
Don’t hesitate to book with Rafa. It’ll probably be your best experience in Tortuguero.

Boat trip - Dedicated and helpful guide. We went around in canals in the forest and saw monkeys, caimans, birds etc. Bring something to sit on to the boat.
