Best Part of My Trip So Far! - I’m SO GLAD I did my canal tour with Rafa! It was just me and one couple in the boat with Rafa so we were able to hear him clearly and it felt like a private excursion. All the other boats we saw had 10-30 people on them sitting in pairs on wither side of the boat - there’s no way they all had the same sightlines we did. Rafa is wonderfully knowledgeable and somehow picks the green fauna out from among the green flora - things I never would have seen on my own - plus so many birds, monkeys, and a caiman. I also recommend doing a night tour with Rafa. Again, much better experience than being with a huge tour group. It was so special seeing toucans and sloths sleeping up in the trees. Don’t hesitate to book with Rafa. It’ll probably be your best experience in Tortuguero.

Grandios - best tour, best guide - The really best canoe tour there is. Rafa is super nice, relaxed and knows every corner. He also offers an Airbnb where we stayed 3 nights.

Tortuguero in one day - We have arranged the tours for the next day at Rafa after arrival without any problems. He gave us a private tour of the canal in the morning by boat and afternoon walk through the park afterwards to the baby turtles on the beach. Rafa told us a lot and showed us the animals of the park. We saw much more than the big tourist boats and sailed through small canals. All this at a very fair price. Before and after the tour Rafa prepared us coffee. We felt like home. We can recommend everyone to book the tour with Rafa even if you do not live there. Tel.: +506 8837 5226

A 1000 out of 100 - Rafa, Tortuguero's best guide. We did canal tour and night turtle tour with him and loved them. He's the best at telling stories and seeing animals. It adapts to any situation, helps you during your stay there, and does not do the “typical” routine tours. Without a doubt, Tortuguero would not have been the same without Rafa! More than a guide, he's a friend! Thank you so much for the adventure 🫶🏼

Some friends forever!! - 7 years ago we travelled to Corta Rica and met Rafa and his family who welcomed us as their family. Last year we took our Little Mary back and she fell in love with Tortuguero thanks to Rafa!! Thank you family we will always have you in our hearts and someday we will come back!!😘😘😘

Boat trip - Dedicated and helpful guide. We went around in canals in the forest and saw monkeys, caimans, birds etc. Bring something to sit on to the boat.
