Fabulous Family Mayan Memories - Diego shared so much Mayan history and accentuated the info using a I pad to share maps and graphics . Even our teenagers were captivated! The Talum ruins, bike ride through the jungle in Coba, and a purifying dip in a gorgeous cenote set us up for a delicious traditional Mayan lunch. Our family of 9 will cherish this adventure. We love Pixan Travels support of the contemporary Mayan community.

Best authentic tours! - My large family (group of 12) took 2 tours with Diego 1 to Chichen Itza & 1 to Coba, these were the best tours I’ve taken! Diego is incredibly knowledgeable, brings pictures and books to back up his knowledge and give more examples of what some ruins looked like hundreds of years ago! He explains everything in a very palatable way so everyone even the children who came can easily understand. He brought us to not only ruins of ancient civilizations but local places to eat including a Mayan family that made us the most amazing, authentic meal, we swam in multiple cenotes that had no other people there, and we got the amazing opportunity to be cleansed by a Mayan Xaman in Campamento Hildago. There was clearly a lot of planning and thought put into making the schedules for these trips & they were both beautiful! & I want to be sure to shout out Eric, our van driver who was so nice and pretty funny- it was great meeting them both and making memories we will have for a lifetime!

Amazing!!!! - My brother and I did a combo tour yesterday - Tulum, Coba and Cenotes! It was truly an incredible experience that we will never forget. The cenote was the highlight for us. Eric and Diego are very knowledgeable and kind. Highly recommend! You won’t regret it.

Tried 4 different tour companies in 1 trip Pixan was best by far. - This was our first trip to Mexico and we did 4 tours with 4 different tour providers during our trip, Ocean Tours, Altournative, Pixan Travel and Xcaret. Pixan Travel was THE BEST by far. The tours all go to mostly the same places. What makes the difference is that Pixan is only private tours, their vans are newer and nicer (read better a/c, more comfortable). It's a small family run tour company, unlike the others, and you get a more authentic experience. On our tour we were the first people to the Cobs ruins and had the place practically to ourselves. The Cenote we visited was empty except for us, and the traditional Mayan meal was not the typical big buffet for all the tourists cooked by local Mayans, but an actual meal on the patio of a Mayan family home with just us and the family (and all the dogs and chickens). Diego was our guide (also an owner) and he was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

Diego was informative, personable, and flexible - can’t say enough good about him! - A group of three of us hired Diego to take us around Tulum for the day and he was nothing less than spectacular! While this was my first time in Tulum, my two friends have owned a condo there for six years and Diego brought even them to places they’ve never been to before in the area. We visited the archaeological site of Coba, swam in an ultra private cenote (fresh water underground pool), got a blessing by a Mayan Shaman, toured an animal rescue sanctuary, and had an authentic Mayan meal prepared by a local family (the fresh tortillas were out of this world). Diego was informative, personable, and flexible - can’t say enough good about him! I would absolutely recommend hiring him for your touring needs!

Best excursion of my life - I would give this tour way more than 5 stars if I could. I’ve traveled a lot and this was by far the best tour I have ever been on. Diego was so kind and full of knowledge to share, and the tour being private was such as nice perk to make it more personal. We visited the Mayan ruins in Coba, followed by a Mayan ceremony with a Shaman, swam in a cenote and finished with a delicious lunch with a Mayan family and a tour of their land & animal preservation sanctuary which was absolutely incredible and beautiful. Everything about this tour was SO authentic and magical. My soul feels so refreshed and recharged after this experience. The tour truly exceeded my expectations by a landslide and I would highly recommend it. Thank you so much Diego, you were such a wonderful guide. I hope to be back in February and will 100% book another tour with Diego @ Pixan!

Private coba & cenote - If you’re going to do any tours at all, this group and having a private experience is the way to go! Diego made our experience so personal and definitely catered to us. He accommodated to what we were most interested in, took tons of pictures for us, and made sure we had the best experience. We didn’t have to worry about anything once our day started. We saw the Mayan temples in coba, followed by a private cenote experience, and then had lunch at a Mayan families home restaurant, complete with a tour of their jungle property and animal preservation! This was the best excursion experience we could have had. Thank you so much!

Amazing tour but more amazing hosts! - Today was absolutely amazing. we started the day bright and early at Tulum & Coba. These are both historic Mayan Sites. The sheer magnificence of these places will take your breath away and leave you with SO MANY questions. The Mayans were an unbelievably intelligent people and so very far a head of their time. Their organization was incredible and their building structures were so detailed and they definitely had an eye for great real estate 🤣. We spent many hours with our guide, Diego, exploring these sites and feeling their magic-we hopped on the bikes and headed to the pyramids in the pouring jungle rain. Diego was an anthropology major and had a certificate in Mayan Civilizations so to say this man knows his stuff is an understatement. He LOVES it and it shows. After leaving Coba, we headed to Nojoch Keej(The Big Deer), which is a wildlife sanctuary and education center WAAAAAAYYYYYY in the jungle down a dirt road for many, many, many many miles that is owned and operated by a Mayan Family. The family welcomed us into their home and cooked us a traditional Mayan Lunch. I wish I had taken pictures of it but I was too busy stuffing my face with homemade tortillas, rice, beans, chicken & slaw-all made organically on their property. They even had a dog named Lola who became my best friend. The property has been passed down and worked through their Mayan Family for hundreds of years and it has several spots where you can see the original Mayan foundations . It’s a magnificent place and I wish I could bottle the sounds. Lastly, Diego and our driver Sarafinito took us to a Cenotes off the beaten path where a Shaman prayed over us to ward off any bad energy before we plunged into that deep dark hole of crystal clear blue water. My gypsy soul has been fulfilled today. The magic of this place can’t be matched I CANNOT say enough about Diego & Sarafinito. Not only was there hospitality outstanding but we truly enjoyed them as people and not just guides. The knowledge and love for their people that they shared with us today only made me want to know more and I CANNOT wait to come back for our next tour with Pixan, Diego & Sarafinito!

Hands down best way to see the Yucatan - Diego was a fantastic guide, deeply knowledgeable and passionate about the Mayan world, past and present. We had a really fun day, learned a lot and saw some beautiful wildlife, including about 50 monkeys at the sanctuary. Lunch was great. 11/10 will be back. Thank you!
