Worth the trip. Eferain... - Worth the trip. Eferain and Johnny (local guide at Chichen Itza) were amazing.
The only thing that was a bit on the down side was the wait time between transfers.

Chichen Itza and Cenote Excursion - The excursion was very nice, we visited three different places in Yucatan and the guides were funny and knowledgeable. The only thing I didn't like that the pickup and drop off in the beginning and end took two hours each way, they should have consolidated the hotel pickups more.

Horrible rip off - HORRIBLE. If I could give this negative stars I would. 1. First off they were 45 minutes late picking us up. 2. The bus was not made with anyone over 5 foot 3 in mind. The seats were tighter than being on an airplane. After hours of being on this bus, my knees, as well as my girlfriends knees, were rubbed raw by the seats in front of us. 3. The bus had WiFi but they would not let us join it. 4. We stopped at the Cenote and then we were told that it was time to go. We were in the water for less than 5 minutes. 5. On our way to Chichen Itza, Ernesto, our tour guide told us that the mosquitoes were very bad here. He also told us that any insect repellent we may have would not be allowed. He also stated that they had some for purchase and strongly recommended that everyone purchase it. He stated the Dengue is very bad here and if we caught it we would not be allowed to leave Mexico. He then stopped with a box of repellent in front of each person and waited for them to buy it. I believe that we were the only couple who did not and were given a dirty look as a result. Needless to say, no one felt or saw a single mosquitoe. 6. He also broke into his story about the Mayan calendar and that each of us would be give a small slip to fill out our month, day and year of birth. This I decided to do as I thought it would be a cool thing to display in my home office. We were then brought to the counter to turn in our slips and to pay for it. I paid and was told they ran out of change and they would my money when I picked up my completed piece. I clearly wrote my information and when I picked it up before boarding the bus I inspected it and noticed they put down the wrong information on the completed piece. I asked for a refund which they refused. At this point I was completely upset with everything. Finally after yelling, they gave me a partial and did not include the money that they owed me from the beginning when they short changed me. Plus I left with nothing. 7. The Mayan store was a complete rip off. They tried to sell my Gal a small Mayan mask for $850 US Dollars. They did this while trying to distract me while 2 sales staff were being very high pressure with her. I put a stop to that immediately. They cursed me in Spanish, not knowing that I understood them. I responded in Spanish and they walked away. 8. The buffet lunch was also at the same stop as the Mayan store. I purchased a prepaid tour ticket that included the cost of our first beverage. After eating half our food, we both ordered another beverage and paid 480 pesos for them. Finally after 10-15 minutes I went and asked for our drinks. They said that I needed to pay for them. I told them that I did and they said that the money I paid was for our first drinks. I showed them my booking receipt and they said that was wrong and refused to provide us anything else to drink unless we paid more. Needless to say we did not get our money back nor did we get our drinks. 9. As we were getting ready to leave, our guide Ernesto, saw me arguing with the staff about the errors on my Mayan calendar and wanting a refund. Of course I was upset after being fleeced by these opportunists. He then interrupted and said, "I don't know about your country, but in this country we show respect. After all his bs and talk everything he saw us go through he comes at me like that. I immediately told him that he was manipulative and should be looking out for his tour guests, not bringing them to places the get ripped off and fleeced not only by the staff at the Mayan store but him as well. Needless to say he did not like having it thrown back in his face. 10. Upon leaving the Mayan Store and out buffet lunch. He immediately gave a speech about how poor everyone is and that the only money they make is on tips and that it was important to recognize this and tip generously. At this point we had just left and we still had stops at Valldolid and our meeting point. More than 2 hours left and he's asking for tips. Yet, after all of his guilt, shaming and high pressure he took a box and stopped at each person asking for tips, even though the tour was not over. I was so offended by his tactics and approach that I asked my Gal to consider not tipping them as we were just ripped off out of more that 600 pesos at the last stop. 11. Stops were made to drop tourists off at their resort or hotel. Once we arrived in Playa del Carmen we were told that it was our stop. When I told him it was not our designated drop off point he said that it was and to get off the bus. 12. In conclusion, this guy, Ernesto, should never be allowed to interact with anyone ever again. It was as unprofessional, shameful, degrading, manupulative and embarrassing a sight. No wonder why everyone speaks so badly of the tours. Save yourself the money on a tour, rent a car and save yourself the time, aggravation and trouble. I will never do another tour with this company again.
