the most beautiful xichen - 2 years ago we visited Chichen Itza and this year we had the opportunity to return, without a doubt, to the most beautiful part of my country. 100% recommended

Great value & experience - The most favorite part was our tour guide Carlos. I appreciated that he always talked about Simplicity of life and appreciating nature and the spirit around us. And of course the ruins. Personally I feel the stop at the shopping place was too long but the cenotet t visit made it worthwhile. definitely worth the value

Breathtaking tour - Jose Luis, Carlos Zavala and Rex were all wonderful tour guides. The bus driver drove very professional throughout the entire tour. We learned a lot about the Mayan history from Jose, Carlos and Rex. When in Cancun, this is a tour that you definitely want to do. There is so much culture and history here in Yucatán. The Mayan-ruins were beautiful. I can’t wait to come back.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO. BE CAUTIOUS OF RAVE REVIEWS! - First of all, be weary of reviews which list the entire tour team. The tour bus I was on: with Marcelo, Hector and Bartolo... gave out souvenirs on the bus to people who proved they wrote positive reviews of the tour group. I think it was a soap in the shape of Chichen Itza. This tour was recommended by some Americans I met at my hotel. I received an email from the company telling me I had to be in the lobby by 6:50 am. They were nearly an hour late picking me up. The van driver was texting while driving. Once you get from the van to the tour bus you're constantly being sold to spend more: upgrade your tour package to deluxe... buy souvenirs at a local gift shop, buy various handmade goods and liquor. At one point, a liquor salesman will actually get on the bus and try to sell you a bottle of alcohol. Be mindful that the order of events listed online... is not actually how it will happen. You will go to a souvenir shop first. Then eat lunch. Then visit a cenote. Then visit Chichen Itza... then stop at Valladolid. Not many of us were able to actually swim in the Cenote. You've got 1.5 hours to eat and swim... and change in and out of your swimsuit... while dealing with several other tour buses full of people. It's so hot in the Yucatan... that if you want nice photos at Chichen Itza... you're not going to risk the shuffle. The BEST part of the tour was actually visiting Chichen Itza. You'll be split into groups of 10 (including the guide). My group was outsourced to a freelance guide at Chichen Itza. He was amazing! Amazing! He spent extra time with us and took photos for us and extended our tour. His name was Jorge and he was hanging out at Chichen Itza. We made an unexpected stop at a snack store... where we also picked up some women who then rode on the bus with us and stayed on the bus with our personal bags while we exited the bus to walk around Valladolid for about 10 minutes. They also drank our unlimited drinks. I had Pepsi, water and orange soda available to me. Before you're allowed to exit the bus and get in a van to go to your apartment, you are sold... one more time... to tip each of the tour staff on board. They tell you their families depend on the tips and they ask you for a positive review on TripAdvisor and to tag them on social media. It was all a little much for more. Long day. I got picked up in Playa del Carmen. Again, ready at 6:50 am and I got back to my hotel at 9:05 p.m. **Do not make dinner reservations when you do this tour. Pack snacks and maybe a lunch. UMBRELLA FOR SURE. SUNSCREEN AND A CAP!

Do go to Chichen Itza, but skip this tour - I do not recommend this tour. It has 2 hours of good content which is Chichen Itza, the rest is not worthwhile. We were told it would be 12 hours, online it lists 11 hours. It took over 14 hours because they spent an hour picking people up at various stops and 1.5 hours dropping people off, at places that weren’t the same ones they picked them up and were much farther and out of the way. When I asked the tour guide why it was so much longer, they blamed the people who sell the tour and said they give out the incorrect info. The cenote is OK. It’s fun to watch people jump in the cold water for a few minutes. The food at the buffet was not good and waiters said the empanadas were cheese but were actually meat. Valledolid was skippable. All throughout the tour, there were stops to look at the same knickknacks sold throughout the area. At Chichen itza, we had a tour guide for 35 minutes and an hour to walk around on our own. Additionally there was a constant hard sell on the tour to upgrade to the “lux” package that includes drinks, to tip the guide at Chichen, to tip the other guides, etc… I recommend skipping this agency’s trip and getting a private taxi or sharing a taxi with another group. The whole trip could easily be done in 6 hours instead of 14: 2 hours on the road, 2 hours at Chichen Itza. 2 hours back home. Chichen Itza was worthwhile and fantastic. Everything else was not worth the time.

Rude tour guide - Signed up for the tulum tour. Went with my family 8 of us total. Started out with needing cash for taxes would not take card recurring theme of the day. We brought 800 pesos for tips and had our cards which we used on all our other tours 6 in all. Then drinks are 14$ us per person for unlimited hey good deal but cash only again. Then get to tulum they did not have the bracelets we had to wait almost 30 minutes to get in. The they adjusted the time back to the bus 1.5 hours to see the whole city not even close to enough time. Gregory tour guide great knowledge very personable. But we did not get to visit the whole site or any shops. Next stop cenote. guess what cash only for life jackets which was required to swim tips here cash only. Plenty of time here though and great cenote out of the 4 I have visited my favorite. Had bats in the cenote and a fun jump, swing, and rope. Next stop playa del Carmen 6 hours since lunch so had to find food for my younger kids all street vendors again cash only. Bus had no where to park they seperated my wife and half my kids from us as the bus abruptly pulled away without explanation so my wife obviously confused as was i as i said hey that is the rest of my family the tour guide blaze or Blas said wait then made a comment about me in spanish to the bus driver that i understood. This was his second comment of the day about white americans in spanish that i understood as did another couple. Tried to hit the ATM not working so used almost the last of my cash. On the way back passed the tip jar around at this point down to 100 pesos tipped the last of my cash. Then the tour guide confronted my wife and gave her a hard time about not tipping enough. After that he then proceeded to talk about us to other passengers on the bus in Spanish thinking we would not understand. Well I speak Spanish so caught most of it as do 2 of my sons. also another couple on the bus told us how bad the tour guide was walking blaze again or Blas. Another tour guide realized we understood and apologized, too little too late. If we had known only cash was excepted everywhere we would have gladly brought more but traveling internationally I try to carry only what I need. The rest of my trip here i have tipped 20 to 30% everywhere i have gone embarrassing and uncalled for from the tour guide. Completely unprofessional and disorganized do not book here.

Private deluxe tour with drivers wife and son paid by us ! - Worst experience …. We are family of 4 . Because of the heat we decided to pay for private deluxe trip. We paid 14.000 Mexican pesos which is 700 GBP . Pick up was at 8 am at the hotel but nobody turned up they said because of the traffic !!!! We rescheduled for next day . Again they were late to pick us up !!! Driver almost crashed 4 times through the all day. Arrived at the cenote lunch was included but for drinks tour guide forgot to give vouchers so we had to pay for it , towels were supposed to be included but we never received them . On the way to Chichen itza the tour guide informed us that they will be going to visit their families in the next village while we are there !!!!! We only wanted to stay at chichen itza for an hour due to the heat however the tour guide persuaded us by saying we needed 1 hour 30 mins minimum, however when we arrived and left the van he said we would meet at 2:30pm which would have been 2 hours, on top of that they were 45 minutes late at the agreed meeting point . And when they finally come to pick us up in the front row was sitting drivers wife and a 5 years old child !!!! Hey it’s a private tour no !!! Our belongings was moved at the back ! At Valladolid we had to spend 25 min but tour guide was not interested any more and he showed a church and said it’s nothing to see any more so it took us 5 min . I don’t know where is was a private deluxe tour for 14.000 Mexican pesos we were always waiting for them , they never waited for us it never was how we wanted . It was more for them to visit their families and to bring wife and son to cancun for free!
