Just all around excellent time - My 11-year-old son and I did two different tours with Bike The Burgh. We did the Beauty of the Burgh tour on day 1 and Gems of Pittsburgh on day 2. There was very little overlap between these two tours, which was great. Both tours were around 7 miles and took around 3 hours.
My son is a relatively skilled biker for his age, given that he bikes in NYC. The routes on these tours are very safe and he did great on their smallest adult bike with the seat all the way down.
The Beauty tour is a great first day tour to orient yourself and understand the basics of the city. Sarah was our guide and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. Tons of great information and a fun upbeat attitude.
The Gems tour is all on the North Shore and we saw some neighborhoods we definitely wouldn't have visited on our own. Randyland and Bicycle Heaven in particular were highlights. Dave was our guide and he was great. Funny story: we kept our bikes after the first tour and stored them in our hotel room overnight (Marriott Courtyard was happy to let us do that) so we could do some solo biking in between the tours. We were a little lost on the 2nd day, trying to find a bike trail. We stopped some locals to ask for directions when Dave biked by. He recognized our bikes and hilariously we discovered that this random man was due to be our tour guide later that day. He then biked us over to the trail we were looking for. So he gave us a little personal help hours before the tour even started!
The bikes themselves were wonderful upright 8-gear bikes. A delight to ride.
Everyone who worked here was nice and professional. The woman who ran the front desk even biked over some umbrellas we accidentally left in the shop to our hotel.
Bike tours are the best way to see a new city, and I can't recommend Bike the Burgh strongly enough!

Awesome time- easy ride - Dan and Diane did an amazing job taking us around the city. They told us so many interesting facts about the city. We loved the breweries they took us to! Although we are not in great shape we found the biking easy to do. Thanks for a great time!

Great overview of the city - Wonderful way to become acquainted with the city. Kane provided a lively and intriguing version of the city’s history. The tour is a good mix of cycling and taking it all in and hearing about the way this wonderful city has adapted over time.

Highly Recommend to do on Day 1 - Plane landed early in AM so signed up for 10AM bike ride before checking in to hotel. It was the best idea because it is a great introduction to downtown and its neighboring areas. It gave me good ideas on where to check out the next few days on my free time. Cain was a super knowledgeable history buff who was passionate about his town. The bike ride was easy and leisurely with just one slight uphill climb near Duquesne and frequent stops for some photo ops and learning. I felt safe riding through town, most of which were on bike trails, only one street going down the Strip had to share with cars but it was fine. No cars honked they were yielding to us. I would recommend to do this on day 1 as a great introduction to the city of Pittsburgh.

Bike the Burgh was fun! - I'm not an avid rider, and the tour was totally doable for all levels. Plenty of historical info, lots of beauty, and very friendly crew. Sarah was our guide, and I felt extremely safe and included the whole time. Definitely bring water and a snack. Bike comes with a small fanny pack to hold your phone, sunglasses, and a granola bar. Ride is also possible with a small backpack or cross body bag. Definitely recommending to friends.
