11/10! - My partner and I recently went on this tour in July. The tour guide was Junior and the driver was Juan. They arrived at our hotel exactly on time, the car was very clean and comfortable. Right away Junior and Juan were friendly explaining the day planned and what to expect. The tour was better than expected. We visited the Paracas reserve which is a unique experience seeing a red beach. Then to Tacoma winery where Junior assisted with food and wine recommendations. Lastly but definitely the best part of the day was in Huacachina for the afternoon where we spent some time at the oasis before going on the sand buggies. This was easily our favourite part of the day where we went on the buggies, stopped for sandboarding and topped it off by watching the sunset at the top of the dunes. Junior and Juan had everything organized for the day prior and everything went smoothly. It is a long day however travelling around in a private air-conditioned vehicle and being able to stop whenever we requested made it easy to bare. I cannot recommend these 2 gentleman enough as the tour was a great, safe experience. I would recommend to all. Thankyou Haku tours and thankyou Junior & Juan

What an amazing trip! - I booked this because it looked like an interesting way to spend a day out from Lima. After a really early pickup at our hotel (4:30), we set off for the 3-1/2 hour drive down the coast to Paracas, with a stop for breakfast at a roadside restaurant. Once in Paracas, we boarded our boat, and off to the Ballestas Islands. What a feast of animals! We saw Humboldt penguins, sea lions (including a newborn), and thousands of birds of numerous types—Peruvian pelicans, cormorants, Inka terns, etc. After the boat trip, we took a short drive to the Paracas National Reserve. What an incredible contrast to have the 2nd driest place in the world right next to the Pacific Ocean! This trip was presented as a small group trip with up to 6 people. However, we were the only ones booked, so it was basically a private tour. As a result, our excellent guide, Amadeo, was able to indulge our request to visit the small museum by the harbor in Paracas and view its collection of archeological artifacts. After lunch, we were back on the road to Lima. A truly incredible day! Would be good for teens also. Young children would probably like the animals, but might be bored otherwise, but the trip is in fairly small boats.

One day is too little for such a beautiful walk - The visit to the Ballestas is very nice. Surrounding the island you can see a myriad of animals in its natural Mood, as well as see the rocky structure of the islands. Highlight for sea lions, penguins and birds, many birds. It's an amazing experience, watching the animals in natural conditions. The only problem is the strong smell. It must be one of the most fucked up islands in the world..rs. It is so much, that from time to time Peruvians remove the material to use as fertilizer. But in any case the smell is not an obstacle and the walk is worth it. One morning or one afternoon is enough for this tour. Visiting the Paracas National Reserve is another incredible tour. It begins with an amazing desert landscape, in some places it looks like a landscape of Mars or the moon. Due to a rapid rainfall that fell in the region the landscape became somewhat whitened due to the amount of salt that emerged from the sun. In fact, it's a surreal view. But the highlight is when the desert meets the sea. The view in the "lookers" is stunning, due to being high it is possible to see far away which makes the landscape even more beautiful. Another highlight of the tour are the beaches. In some it is possible to bath. The water of the Pacific is well frozen, but it is worth the dive to energize body and soul. In summary, they are amazing tours, so one day is little to enjoy well, it is recommended to take one day of tour for observation, and another day to enjoy the beaches.

Excellent day trip to Ballestas with Jhonny and Junior. - We booked a day trip to the Ballestas reserve and Paracas national reserve with Haku Tours. Our driver was Junior and our guide was Jhonny Lucas. Right from the start, they were great company and excellent guides. We were picked up at our address on time and drove through the streets of Lima at the crack of dawn. Jhonny, our tour guide, spoke excellent English and was very knowledgeable about Peruvian history, culture and cuisine. We had many an interesting conversation throughout our trip. We also enjoyed a very delicious lunch with Jhonny and Junior at a local restaurant of their recommendation after the boat ride. At the Paracas reserve, Jhonny not only showed us many beautiful fossils and interesting rock formations, but also demonstrated with the help of a rock tied to a string, how the Nazca lines may have been created. To end the day on a great note, we spotted a large group of flamingoes by a lake on our drive back. All in all, we had an immensely enjoyable and informative day. We were lucky to enjoy the spectacular natural beauty of the region, savor the excellent local food and learn so much about the history of the region. Junior was a great driver, and Jhonny was an excellent guide. They were both very polite, friendly and professional. We would highly recommend Haku Tours for trips around Lima; especially with Jhonny and Junior! Thank you Haku tours!

Stunning day trip from Lima - Our guide, Natalia, and driver, Jean Pierre, arrived at 4.15 am to pick us up so that we could make the boat tour at 8 am. Natalia gave us an excellent overview of the boat tour before we got on. The islas themselves were fantastic; what a sight with hundreds of birds and sea lions in their natural habitat! After the 2 hour boat ride, we visited the Paracas National Reserve, which we found even more spectacular. Natalia was very informative, pacing the tour well with walks and short drives. The cliffs, beaches, coast, ocean are all mesmerising. I could visit over and over again. After a sumptuous lunch, we headed back to Lima, getting home by 6 pm. Jean Pierre drove well, so steady that we slept like babies in the rear seats all the way to and from Paracas. This is my second tour with Haku. I love their social cause, the guides are professional, and I am eager to do another trip with them soon.

Ballestas Islands Full-Day Trip Including Paracas National Reserve - Fair, the guide and driver along with the tour itself was great however the transportation left a lot to be desired. An hour into the trip the car started knocking and on the way back it got worse as we have to travel without A/C and @ slow speeds.
