- Siena - Departing from Florence, the adventure begins with a picturesque drive through the rolling hills of Tuscany until the skyline of Siena emerges, a beautifully preserved medieval city set atop three hills. Renowned for its warm-toned brick buildings and Gothic charm, Siena instantly transports visitors back in time.
- Piazza Salimbeni - Upon arrival, a brief stroll leads to Piazza Salimbeni, a sophisticated and tranquil square surrounded by elegant palaces. At its center stands a statue of Sallustio Bandini, encircled by the historic headquarters of one of the world’s oldest banks, lending the square a distinctly noble and intellectual ambiance.
- Contrada della Torre - As the tour progresses, the unique concept of the “contrade,” Siena’s historic districts, is introduced. Each contrada boasts its own emblem, traditions, and strong identity, all vividly displayed during the renowned Palio horse race. Exploring these neighborhoods reveals flags, fountains, and symbols that narrate tales of age-old rivalries and pride.
- Piazza del Campo - The heart of Siena is unveiled in Piazza del Campo, a vast shell-shaped square that gently slopes toward the Palazzo Pubblico. This is the venue for the Palio and one of Europe’s most distinctive public spaces, where locals and visitors gather to relax and soak in the atmosphere.
- Duomo di Siena - The path then ascends to the magnificent Duomo di Siena, a masterpiece of Italian Gothic architecture. Its striking black-and-white marble façade and richly adorned interior—featuring intricate floors, sculptures, and works by masters like Michelangelo—make it one of Italy’s most breathtaking churches.
- Fattoria Poggio Alloro - Next, the tour visits an organic, family-run wine estate—one of the day’s true highlights. Here, guests enjoy a relaxed and informal tasting experience, sampling regional wines such as Chianti, Vernaccia, and the traditional Tuscan dessert wine, Vin Santo. This is followed by a generous lunch featuring authentic local flavors, all served with sweeping views over the surrounding countryside. It’s the perfect moment to unwind, connect with fellow travelers, and savor fresh, organic farm produce, including homemade pasta, artisanal cured meats like prosciutto and salami, local cheeses, a crisp garden salad, and classic Tuscan biscotti.
- San Gimignano - Departing the winery, the journey continues through vineyards and olive groves to San Gimignano, often referred to as the “Medieval Manhattan” for its skyline of ancient towers. This UNESCO-listed hill town offers a striking contrast with its vertical silhouettes rising above the countryside.
- Piazza della Cisterna - Entering the town, visitors find themselves in Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular square named after the well at its center. Surrounded by towers and medieval houses, it’s a picturesque and lively spot, perfect for pausing and taking in the timeless ambiance.
- Piazza del Duomo - Just a few steps away lies Piazza del Duomo, the town’s religious and civic center. Here, the Collegiate Church stands opposite the Palazzo Comunale, creating a harmonious space that reflects the balance of power in medieval life.
- Rocca of Montestaffoli - The visit continues to the Rocca di Montestaffoli, a fortress offering panoramic views over the surrounding countryside. From this vantage point, the rolling hills, vineyards, and distant villages create a quintessential Tuscan landscape.
- Pisa - In the afternoon, the itinerary heads west toward Pisa, a historic maritime republic renowned worldwide for its architectural treasures. The city’s atmosphere blends academic energy—thanks to its university—with centuries of history.
- Piazza dei Miracoli - Arriving in Pisa, visitors step into the remarkable Piazza dei Miracoli, a vast green space where some of Italy’s most celebrated monuments stand in striking harmony. This UNESCO World Heritage Site showcases an extraordinary collection of Romanesque architecture.
- Leaning Tower of Pisa - The visit naturally culminates at the iconic Leaning Tower, Pisa’s most famous landmark. Instantly recognizable for its distinctive tilt, this elegant white-marble bell tower has fascinated visitors for centuries. Whether admired from afar or up close, it provides the perfect opportunity for memorable photos and a fitting finale to a day rich in history, culture, and unforgettable landscapes.
- Florence - Guests will be dropped off in Florence at around 8.30pm with a camera full of pictures, a stomach full of hearty Tuscan food, and a host of new friends.

Tuscan Countryside with Mano! - This was such a fun day trip to get outside of the city and visit the Tuscan countryside. Mano was our tour guide and he was the man! He was very knowledgeable about the region, kept our group on time and had a great sense of tour which was great to have on a long day. Our amazing bus drive was fantastic as well and I'm kicking myself for not writing down his name but he amazing driving that gigantic bus on the tiny streets. Would highly recommend this tour.

Discovering Tuscany’s Charm in One Day - We had a wonderful day trip from Florence visiting Siena, San Gimignano and Pisa, along with a lovely lunch at a winery. All three places were beautiful and very different from each other — Siena’s grand piazza, the medieval charm of San Gimignano and the iconic Leaning Tower of Pisa were truly memorable.
The stops were well planned and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. A special mention to our guide, Mirella who was friendly, informative and kept us laughing throughout the day, making the experience even more enjoyable.
Highly recommend this tour for anyone who would like to see the highlights and magic of Tuscany in one day.

Cheers to Gabriele!🥂 - This Tuscan day trip was absolutely amazing and so worth the money! Our tour guide, Gabriele, was truly wonderful - knowledgeable, timely, personable, and hilarious and got us through the day despite some weather hiccups. Other travelers should know that this experience is a mix of guided and self-exploration. Gabriele walked us through some history while we were on our bus between destinations. We also had a guided tour in Siena (by another great tour guide, Antonella), with a little bit of time to ourselves. Lunch in San Gimigniano was probably the highlight of the day. The farm we went to, Fattoria Poggio Alloro, was delicious, serving us a full-course meal with four different types of wine with it. The seating is communal-style and they serve one course after another. You get a bottle of white wine and Chianti at the table, and the other wine tastings are poured by the waitstaff. Once we got to the heart of San Gimigiano and also Pisa, our time there was more self-guided. However, Gabriele did provide us with some great suggestions and also a map with some top sights. All-in-all, I don’t think I could have asked for a better experience. This well exceeded my expectations! I would say that we got to do the “most” in Siena since we had a guided tour. As I said before, in San Gimigniano and Pisa, we were given more time to ourselves. There was an upgraded ticket available to purchase to climb the Leaning Tower of Pisa, but we did not book it. However, when we got to Pisa, Gabriele showed our group to the ticket office where we could purchase Tower and Cathedral tickets if we were so inclined. Definitely be prepared to walk a lot if you are booking this tour — we walked well over 20,000 steps (I suppose it is called “WalkAbout Tours” after all). And also be prepared for lots of hills and steep slopes; I actually slipped walking down a slippery slope on a grate because of the rain (I was okay! Just a little frazzled). Siena and San Gimigiano are steeper and have more hills, while Pisa is flatter and easier to walk on. All in all, we had a wonderful trip and I am excited to do another tour with this company - maybe a Vespa tour or a Wine Safari tour (hopefully again with Gabriele)! Highly, HIGHLY recommend!!!

If you have to do one tour, this should be it - If you have to do one tour from Florence, this should be it! When they describe this as the best of Tuscany in one day, they mean it. It is clear that this tour company really cares about quality guest experience over having more tours. Walkabout Tours is a local company and it shows how much thought they put into making a perfect itinerary.
Our tour guide, David, was phenomenonal. He actually went to school for architecture for some time so he is incredibly knowledgeable on many of the landmarks you pass on the drive and has a deep understanding for the history. He's funny, he's charismatic, and he was able to answer every single one of our many questions. Our driver, Sergio, was also amazing, as he was able to navigate tiny streets in a big bus like the professional he is. We were on another tour that just did not compare to this one!
Because of a bike race, our tour was slightly out of order, but it honestly was better this way in my opinion. We started the day in San Gimignano where we had about two hours of free time to roam and explore what is such a gorgeous Tuscan city. You could wander into shops and try some meats, truffle oil, or breads, or maybe grab a souvenir.
Don't fill up too much because the next stop was lunch which I STRONGLY recommend you get. Not only was the food at the winery phenomenal, but we got to enjoy lunch with such a beautiful view of the vineyard itself. Plus, the wine tasting is VERY generous. You basically get a full glass of each type of wine, or more if you can handle it!! There were four wines total. As long as you're drinking, they're pouring. Plus, the wine was some of the best we tried on our trip, and it paired beautifully with the food
After that was the guided walking tour in Siena, which included a tour of the church, followed by about 30 minutes of free time. While we would've loved more free time there, the walking tour inherently helps you explore. Finally, we ended the day at the leaning tower where we had about an hour to wander the complex (which is plenty of time). We did not take the option to enter the leaning tower, but those who did seemed to enjoy it! I personally think the beauty of the tower is viewing it from afar.
As a quick note, the company is right about the amount of walking you do! While you are on the air conditioned bus quite frequently, which is nice for rest, we still ended up doing over 15000 steps with this tour (maybe closer to 20000). Bring comfortable shoes and don't bring a bulky bag--you will be able to leave stuff on the bus! This is not the tour for you if you have difficulty walking or if you bring kids. If you can swing it, make sure you do something less intense the next day so you have time to recover. If that won't be an issue for you, I strongly recommend this tour over every other one!

Tuscany Day Trip / A Must - This Tuscany day trip to Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, and a countryside winery was a great way to experience the region’s history, landscapes, architecture, and cuisine, all in one day.
Siena was a standout, with streets from medieval times the Piazza del Campo, which is hard to believe the famous horse race is held.
The Tuscan winery stop was a well deserved break from sightseeing. Enjoying a lunch with local wines while having conversations with others on our tour was nice. It helped for us to take on this long day.
San Gimignano was beautiful. The narrow streets, the shops, and the views were amazing.
We finished in Pisa, and took photos holding up the Leaning Tower. Climbing the tower was unusual as you could feel the lean of the tower.
Neomi was our guide and helped us maintain our timing going from place to place. She also was very knowledgeable about each of the places we visited.

A must do experience - This was a perfect day for our family to enjoy the Tuscan Hills scenery and see other parts of Tuscany.
The bus was brand new and very comfortable.
Our driver Sergio was excellent-drove safely and smooth. I was a bit worried because I get car sick with windy hills, but I sat in the middle of the bus with a window seat and was able to look forward at the front large window and felt great all day.
Our tour guide David was also phenomenal. He showed he cared so much about the entire groups experience. He was very knowledgeable about Tuscany, Italy and everything we visited. He spoke perfect English and was easy to understand.
He gave us great tips about where to go and how to get there and what to expect when we visited each of the 3 stops.
Our timing at each stop was perfect as well.
I highly recommend this wonderful trip and our fantastic guide David.
