Fantastic tour from an amazing guide - Nicoletta was absolutely an amazing guide as we walked the streets of Pisa and explored some of the amazing food. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, even teaching at a School of Gastronomy and her wine knowledge was exceptional. We were running behind and missed our first stop on the tour, but even without it we ate very well. A note for anyone coming off the cruise ship. Make sure you follow the links they send for directions. We did our own search for Piazza Garibaldi and wound up at the one in Livorno instead of the one in Pisa. If there are a lot of cruise ships in harbor, take the shuttle to the city center, walk one block to a bus stop to a train station to Pisa It will cost you less than €10 per person round trip. We asked for a taxi from City center, but they told us it would be €300 round trip.

Lovely food tour away from the crowds - Alessandro was a lovely guide , full of knowledge about the history of Pisa and the food we enjoyed . The portions of food were perfect and we were kept well supplied with water on this very hot day. Tried ciccina for first time and loved it.

Pisa Food Tour well worth it! - The food was incredible and really gave us a taste of the region. Our guide Alessandra was very knowledgeable and explained the origins of everything we ate. It was a great way to see the city and eat food we would not have known to try. We would definitely do this again!

Over the top - The most memorable moments on the food tour was twofold: 1) of course the food was great and 2) the people on the tour were fun. Our tour leader, Nicolette, was very informative on the different foods at each of the stops. In addition, she did share other attributes of the city, Pisa. Thanks for the experience.

Great experience for an Italian Progressive Meal - We had a fabulous time with Valentina as our guide. She was very knowledgeable and kind. It was our first time in Italy and we wanted to see the LeaningTower of Pisa so she worked it in the tour. We stopped at 5 different restaurants and the food was so good. I would highly recommend this tour experience.

Great tour of Pisa for foodies - We joined this tour with Valentina , we also were joined by a family with young 2 boys with very good appetites. We walked all over Pisa find hidden gems. We started with huge platters of antipasto .the greatest porchetta ever tasted. Also other cured pork and cheeses. Washed down with water wine or soda. We then went to an indoor restaurant where we tasted a portion pici pasta ragout. This is typical tuscan peasant food. By the 3rd stop we were quite full. It was a deli type shop where you choose from the fridge, from a selection of home made foods . We tried the local soup rucvola , which has cabbage in it. This was a filling option. We continue to a pizza takeaway popular with locals where we tried the local chick pea bake pizza , called La Celina. Finally we walked to an ice cream shop near the river Arno. Delicious and needed after the walk in the sunshine. Definitely recommend this trip if you are a Foodie …

Good food on a hot and sweaty day in Pisa - We arrived late to our tour due to public transportation delays, and Valentina was so flexible…to save time we met at the very first stop. The presentation of our first course was amazing. The variety of foods, and the amounts were plentiful and diverse. It was so delicious, we were surprised at how much of the food we put away! We had 4 more stops to go. The next place was one of Pisa’s best restaurants, where we experienced a traditional dish from Pisa. Delizioso! The third stop stretched our palates, and we were able to try multiple regional dishes - we each found the ones we liked best. The fourth was another new experience, and the final stop was very sweet. Be aware that in this food tour with Valentina, you will want to be more engaged and participatory in augmenting your eating experience by being curious and asking questions throughout your experience. As a lifetime local, Valentina answered all of our questions knowledgeably about the region, the culture, the food, and its history. She organized a wonderful sampling of amazing local traditional foods, and we had the chance to get to know the city along the way. She provided her advice to us about additional places to eat, and how to get from the end of our tour to the leaning tower of Pisa. The food was yummy, and we were STUFFED!
