Excellent Walking Tour in Piran! - I had a wonderful time on this tour! Jan is a fantastic guide, I learned a lot about Piran and the surrounding region. I loved tasting local products at Jan's shop too, and I really appreciate his dedication to supporting producers/small businesses in the area. Bonus: my dog was able to join us!

Great tour and amazing food and wine! - Jan was an excellent guide through the city. He spoke knowledgeably about the history and architecture of the region. The high point of the tour was the food and wine tasting at the new shop just off the main square near the harbor. The selection of local wines, meats, cheeses, and olive oils was amazing. Thanks, Jan!

Best spent 90 minutes in Piran - The tour starts in Tartini square where tour guide tells you about the history of Piran and the buildings some of which is very interesting. The tour takes you to all important places in Piran including near the clock tower and fr0m there the surroundings. The information you would get is lot more than you would even with extended stay. The wine testing and food (?) testing is added bonus. No one minds couple of glasses of wine and few canopies to go with it while having interesting discussion on various topics. Overall a pleasant enjoyable experience.

Pardo provides excellence. - Moritz Pardo, our tour guide, spoke with both real world and academic expertise about Piran, Portoroz, and Slovenia in general. An excellent guide and authority to have at your disposal during a tour of this historic town.

Amazing food tour! Highly recommend! - We went for a superb food walking tour around Piran today and all 6 of us thoroughly enjoyed the entire time. Jan is so charismatic and enthusiastic about what he does and rather than just talking at us he was conversational, it was more like having food with a friend than a tour guide which enhanced the experience. Jan clearly knows his way around the food in Piran as every dish was fantastic and we all left feeling completely full! We tried a variety of dishes including tuna tartare, sea bass carpaccio, octopus, baked sea bass, truffle pasta, and cuttlefish risotto. We also sampled some truffle products, olive oils and wines at GourmIstra shop, and local salt products at Piranske Soline, so we left with some products to fit in our suitcases! But I think it’s really important to highlight that at no point did we feel pressured to make any purchases which is how it can feel with other food tours. Jan spoke passionately about the products however whether or not to buy any was left completely up to us which actually meant we felt more comfortable to browse. I would recommend this tour to anybody thinking of booking one and when we come back we will book again!

A wonderful way to experience Piran! - Our guide, Jan, took us on a journey through Piran stopping at all the important sites. He gave us an overview of the history of the area and explained about the main foods and wines. Our stop at Gourmista was very interesting and we had a chance to try a white wine, red wine, snacks with various spreads, prosciutto, and several types of olive oil. Everything is locally grown/made. We thoroughly enjoyed the tour!

Piran - Great host. Layback tour. Small group made it more personal. Great way to see Piran for the first time. Good samples of wine, olive oil and salami at the end.

Swell time was had - The tour consisted of a cursory history of Piran, sampling of local products - wine, olive oils, truffles, meets, cheese, and a brief walk up to the church and around the point. The righteousness of the guides’ restaurant referrals were validated.
