Highly recommended - Our guide Mzweh was waiting for us with a sign with our name at the exit of the port as agreed. Although we do not speak the same language, he English us Spanish, we understood each other perfectly. He led us to the places agreed and all were amazing especially the last visit to the Tala reserve where we could see many animals in their natural habitat circulating freely. We also felt very safe because at all times he took care of us and in turn he was frequently monitored

Not what we hoped for - We got a very late start due to waiting on others to leave the ship. The first stop was not in an open air vehicle just riding in the van. We had excellent sitings of giraffes and zebras. Stop 2 was the Lion Park. The lions were in a very small enclosure it was actually quite sad. We rushed to the 3rd stop for what was supposed to be our open air game vehicle. We arrived at 4 which is closing time and we did not get to do an open air safari. They substituted a reptile experience which was in no way close to what we were hoping for. Our guide NEVER spoke to us throughout the entire trip. He just told us when to leave and where we were headed next. Not a single fact about the area or animals.

Waste of Time and a Big Waste of Money… Thumbs Down! - The game reserve was most enjoyable, and our guide was fantastic. After that, it went downhill. It took a long time to get to the lion and elephant park due to construction. This was a joke! Seriously, a gate is opened and you get to see either 5 female lions or 5 males lions but not both! Your guide drives you in and drives in a circle, and then out… a total of less than 5 minutes. And the individual who opened and closed the gate asked us for a tip! The trip onto the dirt road was long and when we got there, we found out that there are only 2 elephants. The two “trainers” called them to come down from the hill. We did take photos and feed them carrots, so it was ok but too much travel to consider it worth the time. The two “trainers” also asked us for a tip. Next, we went to the Valley of 1000 Hills. The Zulu dances took about 20 minutes and then we were asked for a donation! The drive home was long, and it seemed that we were on the road more than we were enjoying the tour. And, for 2 people to pay over $300 US dollars for a time consuming ride to do this tour is ridiculous. Why not make it group tours… We truly believe it was a tourist trap and a waste of money. We did tip our driver… but 8 to 6 (10 hours) to be driven around is truly not fun and a waste of money. We would not do this again, and we certainly wouldn’t recommend, especially at this price. Perhaps, a group tour, you should only pay $50. The problem is taking advantage of cruise ships coming in and gouging… only private tours and no group tours. It is not worth it!!!

Disappointing - Disappointing, do not trust the images of the ad. We were crammed 15 people into a minibus without air conditioning. We've come a long way and seen practically nothing. At the first reserve, Tala Game Reserve, we did not change cars as planned, we stayed in the same little bus to see nothing. Then Natal Lion Park is several lions in a cage and we enter the cage with the small bus. Then there are two elephants that can be seen not far from the lions. Both lions and elephants did not seem to be in superb health. We did not have water as agreed and we were able to buy chips in a shop for food as no stops planned for meals. Last visit we missed it for lack of time but it's not the company's fault.

Not as advertised - Tala would not honor our reservation in the 4x4 big open air trucks but told driver the people who came in busses got the 4x4 as the bus could not drive in park but the vans could. We were not allowed out of our van. I could not see much. And, i believe tour operator African Safaris knew this in advance. As this was the only safari we had booked in Africa we are angry and disappointed..
we saw lots of giraffes and zebras but no elephants. Note that if you are on a cruise best book with cruise so ensured open 4x4 experience . Others who did this were satisfied with half day.

DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY - WORST TRIP EVER!! We waited to do a safari for years. We were on a cruise and this was our only chance. We thought it was going to be a small tour. It ended up doing 2 FULL van loads full of people. We were one of the first to show up. We ended up sitting in a sweltering van for OVER 2 HOURS waiting for 1 family to show up. We begged to go for over an hour and a half. Even sending one of the 2 vans. Instead they made over 20 people sit and wait for 1 family. The family finally showed up and were oblivious to what had happened. By the time we left, we were so late that we were way behind and rushed. Finally, we got to the last stop which was the safari and the place was closing down. They let us walk thru the alligator enclose that we could see anytime in Florida. The safari part was closed and we never got to go. We will never be able to make this trip again and missed the opportunity of a lifetime over bad tour operators!! We had already booked a second tour unknowingly with this same operator for a different tour the next day and that tour didn't complete the tour either. But I'll review that one separately. DO NOT USE THIS TOUR COMPANY!

Very very Sad trip to Tala game reserve, Natal Lion park . - The whole experience was terrible. We should be refunded 100%. Nothing we were told actually happened. To start with, we left late, due to a person, who wasn't supposed to be with us. The van was jam packed, with No, Absolutely no space to move. We literally stuck to strangers. Then the air con didn't work. The shock absorbers at the back didn't work, so we felt every pot hole , we drove over. Then we were told that when we get to the park, we will have to do a self drive since combi's were not available. That's when I told Joseph the guide, it was totally unacceptable. He said he was doing his best under the circumstances. Those of us that were squished in the middle of the van didn't have a window so couldn't take pics or even get any air. In Tala we never saw a single Elephant. We didn't bring water, since it was included in the program. We Never even got that. Then after our brief Natal park drive, we were so frustrated, hot & disgusted , that we just wanted to get back to the ship. I sent a disgusted message to Mike the supervisor explaining our situation & hoping for a response, but didn't hear from him yet. We expect a 100 refund for this disgusting trip that was so unlike Viator. We've done many trips with viator, & this was definitely the worst. Please respond. Thanks
