- Wat Phanan Choeng Worawihan - Constructed in 1324, 26 years prior to the establishment of Ayutthaya as the capital in 1350, Wat Phanan Choeng features a large image hall with a seated Buddha statue measuring 19 meters in height and 20 meters in width at the lap. Both the temple and the Buddha were eventually destroyed by fire.

It was the most significant temple during Ayutthaya’s golden era, serving as the royal chapel for the Ayutthaya Kings’ religious ceremonies. It is considered the architectural model for the Emerald Buddha temple in Bangkok.
