Deeply moving experience - Guide Lina was knowledgeable, friendly and very genuine. She not only brought her knowledge of what happened during the Khmer Rouge but was able to personalise the experience by sharing a deeply moving family history. Very highly recommended.

Excellent background information - If you are in Pnom Penh, a visit to the Genocidal Museum and the Killingsfields is a must. It is a pitch-black page in history that emerges all over Cambodia. But nowhere else but in Pnom Penh do you get such a good impression of the scenes that took place during this period. We have chosen the privately organized tour which is more expensive but besides being more efficient also much more informative. Our guide told us a lot about the history and the war. In addition to a very good explanation of the horrible events, she also pointed out important details. One of them was on the way out. Where were very clearly impressed by the the former prison and therefore walked somewhat absorbed in thought to the exit. Fortunately, she pointed out two older men sitting in the shade on a chair. At the time of liberation, 12 more prisoners had been found alive. And they were the only living ones of them. We would have missed that without the guide. By the way, you feel very small and humble when you face these two men. Then you go to the killing fields. Uncle here you get an explanation of important details. You walk down a path and she points out a tooth of a deceased person. Which you usually pass by like that. And in addition, a good historical explanation per place. I don't know what a non-guided tour or one with a headset would have been like but for us this private tour had a clear added value.

Unforgettable tour. - Thankyou Sam for sharing your own family’s stories and your thoughtfulness while we did the tour together. It is a very harrowing tour but one that people should do so we have a full understanding of those terrible times and the suffering of the Cambodian people. It was not that long ago and everyone in this country are still affected. Sam’s knowledge of the history is very thorough and he speaks excellent English. I was humbled to meet some survivors and Sam showed great respect. I would highly recommend taking the tour with someone like Sam as opposed to self guided because it brings a human reality to the tour and you have conversations. Be warned it is not suitable for children or those who may be badly affected by graphic detail and ‘in your face’ reminders of this inhumanity. If you don’t really understand what happened it is important to do your research beforehand to show respect to the millions who suffered at the hands of the Khmer Rouge. Thankyou again Sam 🙏🏾

Very informative place for Pol Pot Regime - We booked a private tour to this place which is very sad and very graphic. It was a high school turned into a torture and execution facility before sending the prisoners to the killing fields. There are 4 building all 3 stores tall. Over 14,000 people have been forced to entered this facility. Only 7 people survived. There is still 3 men who are alive who spent up to 2 years here and have written books about their experiences.
