• Royal Railway Station (Phnom Penh) - Built in 1932 during the French Colonial period, this original train station is a place where locals often visit and relax along the railway line.
• Royal Palace - Constructed in 1866 when the capital was moved from Udong, the Royal Palace is a place to wander around the front compound. In the evenings, you’ll see many people enjoying local food and the surroundings.
• Independence Monument - Located at a central intersection, this monument commemorates Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953. It is particularly beautiful at night.
• Statue of King Father Norodom Sihanouk - Erected in 2013 after his death, this statue stands in a large park and honors King Norodom Sihanouk’s contributions to Cambodia’s independence. It’s a great place to walk and observe Cambodian life.
• Samdech Chuon Nath Statue - This statue honors Chuon Nath, a revered monk and master of the Khmer language, who lived from 1863 to 1969. It is located next to a beautiful Buddhist center and a five-star hotel near Diamond Island, where you can also see the Cambodian assembly.
• Diamond Island Park - An actual island expanded by the government, Diamond Island Park is a major landmark in Phnom Penh. It’s a delightful place to visit in the evening to enjoy views of the city’s skyline and riverside.
• Phnom Penh’s Night Market - Stroll through the night market to see locals enjoying time with family and friends, and pick up some souvenirs.
• Cambodia-Vietnam Friendship Monument - This monument, symbolizing the alliance between Cambodia and Vietnam, stands in a large park next to an important pagoda.
