This monument, located in the capital of Cambodia, was constructed in 1958 to commemorate Cambodia’s independence from France in 1953. It is situated on a roundabout at the intersection of Norodom Boulevard and Sihanouk Boulevard in the city center. The guide will then provide a briefing on the tour itinerary and conduct a bike test.
• Areyksat Ferry Dock - The tour continues with a ride through the heart of Phnom Penh, heading towards the Areyksat Ferry Dock for a ferry crossing to explore the fishing community. This community consists of over 200 fishing boats that serve as homes, allowing residents to travel along the river to catch fish and support their families.
• Tuol Sangke Market - The bike ride proceeds to a slum area and the rental accommodations of garment factory workers, offering a stark contrast to city life. • Orussey Market - At the wet market, participants can engage with locals, enjoy drinks and food, and learn about local business practices. The market offers a wide variety of products, including the largest traditional medicine shop, reminiscent of styles from China, Japan, or Korea. There are numerous food stalls, fruit vendors, clothing shops, and dry seafood sellers. Lunch or dinner will be enjoyed here.
