Super nice experience. Nice atmosphere - Cooking with this family was a very nice experience for me. After shopping together at the local market we went home to the vegetable garden to harvest fresh vegetables herbs. The family takes good care of its guests. The cooking was very nice. Prepare everything together and the atmosphere is relaxed. After everything is prepared, it is time to cook and stir-fry. The meal was very tasty and I thought it was a very nice evening. Recommended if you want to cook at the local people's house.

Easy escape from the city - Pleasant trip outside Phnom Penh, short 5 min ferry which runs every 15 min, they pick you up on the other side and take you to get ingredients and go shopping. Lovely country home to do the food prep. There were just two of us and we ended up taking food back with us as it was more than enough.

A cooking experience like no other👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 - This is a MUST do cooking experience when travelling in the area. From start to finish Sophars was an excellent host/ tutor. We were met at the ferry port and driven by Sophan in a tuk tuk to the local market where Sophars explained everything to us and of course was extremely knowledgeable about all the produce that was sold there. After buying all our ingredients to cook our meal we then jumped back I. The tuk tuk to her organic garden to pick the vegetables that would accompany our dish. How lovely to be able to pick your own veg and cook straight away, this alone would have made me book the experience. Then it was off to the kitchen to prepare our meal, but first we stopped to buy some cold beers to have whilst preparing our meal. Arriving at the kitchen we were greeted by some other members of staff who were very accommodating. So we started to prepare the spice blend for our Amok chicken curry and it felt like being at home surrounded by family, cooking and laughing in the kitchen. It was so much fun that before we knew it, it was time to sit at the table and enjoy the fruits of our labour. The best Amok curry, rice, pak cho and cabbage. Followed by a delightful sweet potato and palm sugar dessert. Sophars & Sophan you guys rock. Anyone reading this review hesitating on booking, don’t, you will not be disappointed.

Must do, book it now! - Book this right now! Absolute highlight of our trip to Cambodia! Getting the ferry across was very easy (Sophors gave us detailed directions) and it was fun to feel like a local and get off the tourist trail. Pick up from the ferry was super easy and we went to the local market and family garden which was great to see (we chopped off banana leaves to steam our food in). Then to the family home where we made Chicken Amouk from scratch (there was the option to do a fish one if we wanted but we chose chicken). The whole family is there and is extremely welcoming and friendly and it was really fun to cook together. The food was delicious and so filling. Then drop off at the ferry was easy and it was pretty to see the lights of Phnom Penh on the way home. Highly recommend, just go ahead and book it, you will be so pleased you did!
