Ryan was AMAZING! He absolutely went above and beyond with our small group. The adult history nerds and the 3rd grader were equally engaged and interested :) We did a bunch of activities in Philadelphia this week and Ryan made the ghost tour a favorite!

We booked a ghost tour in Philadelphia through another company, and they canceled on us last minute. We were scrambling to find a replacement tour because my young son was really stoked for the ghost tour. We had done similar tours in Savannah, Gettysburg, New Orleans and other cities, so we had a pretty good feel for what a ghost tour "should be". None of us are paranormal experts or ghost fanatics, but we find these types of things to be great fun, and like the idea of spooky stories in th dark. I found this tour through TripAdvisor and went ahead and booked it because it sounded like what we wanted based on past experience. It was advertised as 90 minutes and started at 8:00pm. Our guide was very knowledgeable about Philadelphia history, but didn't seem to grasp the concept that this was a GHOST TOUR. If we wanted to take a history tour, we would've booked a history tour. Every stop included about 20-30 minutes of him giving a history lecture about something. Then, to make matters worse, at the very end of each lecture, he would say something like "Oh, by the way, the ghost part of this story is____" with absolutely no attempt to provide any type of suitable delivery or presentation for a ghost story. It was almost as if the ghost "tidbit" each time was an aside, and he presented it as something that he apparently didn't care much about at all. There was zero spooky or fun factor at all. On top of that, at around the 9:45pm mark, people started dropping off the tour because he was only a little over halfway done with the tour. Since we had small children, and we were a bit cautious about walking around Philadelhpia late at night, we had no choice but to break away as well while we were still relatively close to our hotel. I had booked tours through Ghost City in other cities in the past, and this was BY FAR my worst experience of all of them. We left very disappointed.
