John, our guide, was excellent in every which way.

The walking tour was great and really helps you to absorb the history all around you! We went with elementary, middle schoolers, and Grandma and everyone loved it!

Tour was very insightful. We had a group of international visitors and wanted to give them a quick overview of the area. The tour was about 95 minutes, and stopped at many great locations. Our guide Joe did a wonderful job explaining the history of each stop, as well as adding some colorful commentary on some lesser known stories. His knowledge and passion for the history of Philadelphia was top notch. Would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to see Old City.

It was a great way to get an overview of Philadelphia’s history and identify areas we want to explore more deeply. Our guide, Joseph, was wonderful with both the children and the adults. He was knowledgeable, funny, and shared many interesting facts throughout the tour.

Tour guide relatively disengaged, not eager to ask questions, deferred many times for us to find out later on our own, generally a lackluster experience.

The tour guide unenthusiastic and didn't possess much knowledge about the sites visited. We only visited 4 sites in one hour and fifteen minutes. The tour was extremely unorganized.

I think the experience would benefit from some work on: - introducing yourself and your background/level of knowledge - speaking loudly and clearly to the whole group - checking in if everyone speaks English, where they are from, level of knowledge would be a good way to start. - asking for tips as the opening introduction seems pitiful to foreigners, are the guides not paid? Why was he on his phone a fair bit? Overall a pretty perfunctory dash through the information on historical markers, no inviting of questions and not the history teacher/standup comedian mentioned in other reviews. Not terrible but didn’t give the impression he’d got a decade of experience and my children who aren’t in US schools were baffled and didn’t learn much, mainly due to the very fast and quiet delivery, it was like he was reading aloud. Not terrible but not the best walking tour ever by any means. I teach and a bit of engagement goes a long way.

Our tour guide was a really nice guy but he talked to fast. We didn’t “tour” the courtyard at the Betsy Ross house. We passed by it, stopped near it and he gave us some info. We only walked about a quarter of the way into Elfreth’s Alley as he told us about it. He did not talk about the Ben Franklin Bridge at all or the post office per the itenerary. He did show us where his house used to be to be and talked a bit about it. He did not take us by the second bank but may have mentioned it - not sure because he talked so fast. I usually don’t give a review when I’m not happy with the tour but I just wanted to hopefully provide some things for improvement. Definitely not worth the $$ we paid. Would have liked for him to maybe point out some things along the way or maybe give more fact of the areas history. Our tour guide did wait for Carpenters Hall to open when we got there so we could spend a bit of time inside there.

I booked this tour for my family of 3 based upon all the rave reviews. Sadly, we didn't have the same experience as other reviews. In contrast, on the same trip we booked a tour at $23 a person (with our own personal tour guide). I contacted the tour group directly and received a response from Carl stating he would look into it immediately and get back to me. I haven't heard back from him. I rely strongly on reviews when purchasing items or booking tours, thus I think it's important for others to be aware you may not get the experience you're anticipating.
